1 is best, 2 is acceptable, 3 I’m sending it back. I won’t even consider anything past that.

20s I went to a 2

Now I like it pretty much rare. Figure by the time I’m 50 I’ll just eat it raw out of the pack

Use to be a 1, but too many places will give you a cold red center instead of a “cool red center”. So now I usually go 2 now.
Sous vide @ 120 with a quick seat for a smooth 1.5 if cooking at home.
