Shoe -- in all seriousness the Siegen Lane location is pretty good actually .. the ribs, steaks, and BBQ shrimp are really good .. good sides too .. but since they opened that new location it is as if Siegen and Acadian are two totally different restaurants that shouldn't have the same name .. the old location has just slid straight downhill .. anyone that eats at both will notice it .. fortunately for them .. a lot of the ones that patronize the Acadian location have never gone to the other .. so they don't know the difference ...
like I said .. I don't need free food .. he hasn't lost me as a customer .. just nothing is going to get me back to Acadian .. for a lot of people, when they field a complaint, they just want their meal comped or their next free ... I am just trying to let the guy know that, based on my last three visits to that location over the last five months, he has a pretty bad logistical problem in his kitchen sending out cold and under cooked $18.95 and $29.95 dishes ... we're not talking a cold cup of queso here ... I am NOT the only person that has said this either and God knows how many just didn't say anything ...
so what is my going back for a freebie and Beauxnes standing over Willie at the microwave to make sure he keys in "4:00 .. Start" this time going to prove ? if he's using me as a "teaching" experience, then he obviously hasn't paid attention to detail either and is a big part of the problem .. that is why I wondered aloud if those comments in his post were sarcastic .. at the very least it's an odd choice of words ..

Rag, I agree with like 2 and 5/8ths of your above paragraphs..
But, at this point, just out of my curiosty, what do you expect him to say? A. he doesn't say anything.. B. he says he doesn't care if you come back or not. C. he says he's sorry, which is obviously not gonna work "again". D. he throws "Willie" under the bus and calls him a dumbazz.. E. his last and best option,(imo), is to try and make it a positive, by offering to "give" something in hopes of appeasement..

Bingo. Beauxnes gave the correct response.
What in the hell do you people want him to say? Fock.

in reality, it would probably be best if a restaurant owner just stayed out of these threads and just take the constructive criticism and do with it as they may ... there was another restaurant owner that would get in these threads and argue and eventually just came off as a pompous arse on here and probably did far more harm than good when the only criticism were his restaurant hours ... not saying beauxnes has ever done this on here, because he hasn't .. from what i have seen from his posts in here, he does seem genuine and is far from arrogant ... but in the end, these guys prolly need to stay out of these threads ... i obviously am not looking for a public apology, nor am i looking for free food either ... i posted back in june when i got a cold, bleeding, gnarly, rare bone-in rib eye there .. i have gone back twice since then, i think most people give restaurants and/or specific locations three strikes ... nolan ryan served up fast balls last night for acadian in my book ..

so, I'm assuming your choice would be A. he should not say anything...
OK, just wondering...

not just him personally .. in general .. restaurant owners don't need to be in these threads ..

cool atmosphere and have always had great service, but the food is very mediocre and they do not do Baby Backs well at all - actually, they suck compared to the chains which is unacceptable and embarrassing. I am not sure what all the fuss is about over TJ Ribs - I support our local restaurants over the chains, but will not go out to eat for something mediocre just to support them.

have you tried the siegen location as well ?

I have not but I will give it a try. I was in the restaurant business and had my own show for a while. It is frustrating as hell to motivate employees and line cooks to make it perfect every time, but it is what all owners/managers strive for to be sure. It is nice to see the manager(s) walking around TJ's Acadian making sure things are perfect, but they cannot cook the food as well. I do think they need to reevaluate their menu and recipes and upgrade product, suppliers, food stuffs, etc as required.
When you have the word "RIBS" in your name, you better damn well put out the best ribs in town! I come to Tigerdroppings food section all the time before eating out to read what others say about certain restaurants and dishes. I think if I were still in the biz, I would read and read and read in forums such as these to correct a potential pitfall - someone else will come in and eventually do it much better (that is how you better start thinking or you will become a spider-webbed relic eventually). The place is still packed, but that can change very fast if people start talking about a mediocre food experience in a town the size of Baton Rouge.

From a previous restaurant owner, I suggest you leave restaurant food out of your normal diet, and stick to your normal bag of dicks to munch on. I'm sure you'll end up much more satisfied.
Beauxnes gets on here and hands you exactly what should have been said on a silver platter, and you mock the frick out of him. Nothing is good enough for your punk arse.

The owner is sincere for sure as well as the original poster. I think we all want to see our local eateries flourish, I know that is my motive. Owners usually like feedback and take the negative with the positive to try and improve. If microwaves are being used then there is not much that can be improved IMO.
I sent a link to CAFE AMERICAN from TD.com in hopes that someone serious about their restaurant would make very necessary changes. I have eaten there many times and always had a good dining experience. When I moved back to Baton Rouge, I went to Cafe American and it sucked so bad that I was embarrassed taking a business colleague there - same for DeAngelo's. I saw a thread discussing the decline of Cafe American and sent it to them.
Baton Rouge has some great restaurants and I want to see more local eateries established and flourishing.

Shut up
He had 3 consecutive poor experiences at the restaurant. He's not asking for a freebie. He's giving a critique of a restaurant that consistently fails to deliver. No one cares that you own or used to own a restaurant. If I was him I wouldn't go back either. You don't go back to a restaurant for someone to "make up" for their bad food. You go somewhere else.

couldnt have said it better myself
and he gave them three strikes, i usually am done with a place after 2 strikes

Still no reason to be a dick about it. Beauxnes was sincere, which should count for something.

I believe Beauxnes handles his discussions very professionally on here, and for that reason I have gone back to both locations a couple of times since he started advertising on here.
I enjoy sitting in the bar area at both locations. Last time we went to the Acadian both burgers at the table were charred and over cooked. Neither one of us finished our burgers. The bartender was cute and friendly and asked if we didn't like it...we told her not really and she asked if we wanted something else, but I was fairly full from an App and the fries. She even offered to remove it from the tab, but I ate half of it and the fries, so we said no. Good service goes a long way, and for that reason alone I'd go back. Did a couple of shots of tequilla after and felt better about the situation actually.
Went to the Siegen location a couple of weeks back and the bartender wasn't the coolest person, but nothing terrible. Had the Beef ribs like suggested and they were pretty good. No "wow" factor, but I'd have no problem going back and pulling up a bar stool and having a few beers and ordering the beef ribs again.

Don't get it Rag. Was there last Friday with 6 others for lunch. Everything was perfect, however, only one ordered ribs. We had 3 chicken fried steaks and 3 fried catfish plates. Guy who had ribs had no complaints...

restaurant owners don't need to be in these threads
so, coaches, players, etc. don't need to respond on the rant if folks know who they are.. people that own investment companies and the name of their co. comes up need to be quiet on the money board.. real estate folks need to not respond about real estate, etc.
TR, that would get boring fast...
