Air Fryer. Fad or nah?

I've been thinking about getting one but I don't want it to end up being one of those huge space wasting devices that I barely use. Does anyone have one that actually uses it regularly? If so is there a brand or model you would recommend?

You could just get one of those small convection oven / toaster ovens.
It is basically the same thing, and could have more uses

We love ours! Cooked some wings in it tonight and will not use grease again!

I keep it right next my instant pot, Ronco rotisserie, fry daddy, panini maker, waffle iron, juicer. Smoothie maker, bread maker, ice cream maker , crock pot and rice maker, but I use it more than my bamboo steamer

so sad that I have all of those...except the rotisserie and the bamboo steamer. Maybe I need to look into those.

It’s not frying anything. It’s a countertop convection oven.

Best thing I can say about them is they’re excellent at heating/crisping up leftover fried food, especially catfish.

This. It’s a fantastic little oven and cleans up your counter space because it’s so versatile. Love mine.

So I watched a video where a guy floured some chicken thighs and put it in the air fryer with a little bit of oil. They came out looking like crispy fried chicken thighs. You're saying this can be done in a toaster oven? The air fryer offers nothing more than a toaster oven?

All of the truths.....all of them

We just bought one and we use it pretty often. Everything from wings to fries to okra. Really good for reheating fried foods. I'd recommend it.

The Breville listed is way more than a toaster oven. You can cook a 14 lb. turkey in it.

Serious question.
I have two ovens. What purpose would the Breville Smart Oven Air serve for a person like myself?
I'm a big fan of Breville. Have a mixer from them and a waffle maker.
Just curious if there are really any significant differences.

The biggest thing it did for me is counter and cabinet clutter. I don’t need a separate toaster, air fryer, etc now taking up space.

we have used our big oven about 4 times since we bought it 3 months ago. It heats up fast and evenly and it's a lot easier to keep clean than the big oven. It does a lot of things very well. It's just convenient as heck. It replaced a couple of things in our kitchen.

I have a big regular oven, and the Breville gets used 5x more than the big one (and I have a micro bakery business). The Breville heats up very quickly, much faster than the full size oven), so it’s ideal for cooking for one or two, or reheating. A standard quarter sheet pan will fit into it, as will a 12” pizza, a 12 cup muffin tin, and a 9 x 13 pan.
The convection is great for the trendy air frying concept, and it is perfect for reheating crispy things. Move the rake up a position and it’s just like a regular toaster, too.

What the hell do y’all have against a fry daddy or gran pappy?
Beats the hell out of burning my grease

It's a waste of time and money imho. And they stink after a few uses, even if they're cleaned after each use. Save your money and closet space.
