We bought one for frying turkey this past Thanksgiving, my personal opinion it SUCKED! My wife thinks we need to give it another go, I told her it best be before Thanksgiving next year cause I ain't doing it!

But where do you keep your George Foreman Grill?

For those asking about convection ovens, I’ve never had a “toaster” and always had a convection oven. They are extremely useful. Currently have a smaller Breville. Got the large one off our registry a couple years ago, but it took up more counter space than necessary so we swapped it for the small one.

It is has texture and you don’t need a vat of fricking grease to use it.

i am getting this soon. Need to replace an older toaster oven and the Breville Smart Oven Air looks amazing.

How hot does the top get during use?

Unless you’re eating fried food as a steady part of your diet,I don’t see the point. Real fried stuff once a while won’t kill you.

I’m clueless when it comes to air fryers and the smart oven air by Breville. Someone mentioned adding oil (a drop) to air fryer for crispy thighs. How does one accomplish this with the Breville?

Before I put the rub on I take a tablesoon of olive oil and cover the chicken. Works great.

Chicken,

The top can get hot if you're cooking at high temps but I haven't noticed that it't terribly hot.

It gets hot, but I put a bamboo cutting board on top to keep anyone from touching it. It doubles as a plate warmer.

We may be owning one soon. We make toast most mornings and make beef jerky on the regular. Can we scrap those 2 machines?

Is it a pain in the arse to clean?

FWIW - we still have a SlapChop and it works like a boss.

It’s not frying anything. It’s a countertop convection oven.

Correct, while I dont see the point the wife uses it on the reg.

She is a Brit though and must have roast potatoes at least 27 times a week and it sure is an easy way to make them.

Slice a potato, spray with olive oil, sprinkle whatever seasoning and hit a button, done in 20 min.

I find instant pots aren't fad gadgets, they're pretty useful, imo.

But you really need a pasta maker, meat grinder, popcorn maker, food dehydrator, vegetable spiralizer
