One showed up on our doorstep courtesy of the wife's very generous employer.

We've tried a few things, they were pretty good.

I don't give a shite what other people do or think.

I can’t even think of anything else really. Some people swear by wings, but I prefer grilled with some nice char

For me it’s just the ease of use. I have an older basic one that I basically treat as a little oven. I can basically throw something like chicken, fish, or pork in it then hop in the shower and it’s about ready when I get out. I do like to finish off some grilled wings in it.

Same. I occasionally cook small servings of sausage or bacon and it works fine. For frozen snacks or pizza they are great. We tried battering up some raw chicken strips per the recipe book...and it was a disaster.

I have an air fryer.

I use it occasionally.

It serves its purpose and makes me happy.

I don’t have a convection oven.

I don’t care if you can do the same thing with a convection oven.

I don’t understand anti air fryer people. Why are you against a cooking appliance? If it works for people, what’s your issue? If you don’t want one, don’t use it.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. I have one and enjoy using it. My kitchen oven is not a convection oven.

People getting mad over other people happily using a kitchen appliance is hilarious though.

ETA: It's awesome for warming up some boudin in. Nice and crisp, like it was on the grill, in just a few minutes.

Same here. It does lots of things very well and doesn't require me to heat a huge oven to do something small. It's much easier to do fries in than a large oven.

I've had food from an Air Fryer. Tasted like a dog turd smothered in cigarette ashes.

This is a pretty ignorant take. Basically the same as saying you've had food from an oven that tastes like shite. If you're food out of the air fryer tasted like shite it's probably more the food itself and how it was prepared vs. what appliance was used to cook it.

As a dad of 2, its pretty damn clutch that I can pop in some chicken nuggets and french fries into that thing and they be ready in a few minutes. It is worth it just for that. It gets fries and nuggets real crispy.

this.

I use the hell out of my air fryer but its not some god send. Just makes cooking most things for the kids easy and easy for cooking breakfast in the morning.

I have 3 kids, whatever makes life easier on me is a god send in my book.

But i do know the people yall are talking about. They post pictures on facebook of almost every meal they make a brag about how it is healthy because its air fried instead of deep fried.

But they are nice, just like sous vide, pellet grills, pressure cookers etc.

Some of yall have too much time on your hands to be worrying about shite like this.

and RYNO...you should prolly focus your energy on getting your arse back to lifting and getting back in shape instead of what some boomer is posting on facebook.

Ok I' admit it. There are some days I go home for lunch and eat dinosaur nuggets or fishsticks from the air fryer.

I’m late to this thread, and don’t have an air fryer. But wouldn’t these people be posting stuff like that anyway? Regardless of if it’s about an air fryer or something else they have a superiority complex about?

Makes a fine chicken wing. That's the only thing I think I've ever cooked in ours. Wife does some frozen kid's food in it on occasion. I would rank it behind the instapot in terms of usage in my house, but way ahead of the George Forman grill.

Makes some pretty awesome tater tots. Need to try making chicken wings.

Not a replacement for a convection oven IMO.

Air Fryer

No such thing. You can't fry with air. It's a counter-top convection oven.
