I can't find the list y'all started about restaurants closing down, but BRQ in Denham Springs needs to be added.

It's really surprising since the food was excellent, it was always busy, and the books were balanced.

A snippet from the email....

They started closing on Monday’s and Tuesday’s about a month ago. The wife and I go about once a month and it was always good and decent amount of people. I don’t see how Voodoo lasted so long there but BRQ can’t last a year.

I'm wondering if they're moving?

They just announced the closing on Facebook. Lots of unhappy employees.

Damn.... that was some good food

Last time I tried to go there, they had already cut out lunch hours

Must have used different recipes/techniques than the BR location.

Now that's damned curious, because the wife (no pics) and I went to the one on Jefferson last Friday night and our waiter was complaining the manager had just come in and "cleaned out" most of their good bourbon to bring to the DS location.

Was it different from the food at the Jefferson location? But that restaurant has been very mediocre the few times I've been

Voodoo is fast casual and relatively cheap.

I'm with the others, the BR location is not even mediocre to me.

Not surprised. Went twice and both times I was extremely disappointed. The service was good but the food sucked and was overpriced.

Worst part about it is the bbq. It’s criminal they call themselves a bbq place.

This has been my experience. I like most of the other items but I avoid the BBQ. Justin is a good chef and needs to go back to his upscale cooking and ditch the BBQ.

Not sure. I don’t live in BR area and had only been for the Denham location a couple of times. I thought it was very good when I went, but BBQ at restaurants can be inconsistent. Maybe I just got lucky

Never understand the outrage on this side when a place closes. I saw some posts from people like “these people screwed over my friends!!”. Like are they supposed to continue to hemorrhage money until the bank forecloses on them so that sally doesn’t have to find a different bar tending job?

That’s basically exactly what they expect. I’m in an argument with 2 guys right now about this. They can’t understand why “greedy” owners would do this to anyone

Not wanting to lose everything you own in a risky business venture is greedy these days I guess

It’s people that obviously have never owned or managed a business. Basically they want the owner to warn everyone of the closing so the owners can be stolen blind or give guests a terrible experience bc the employees’ minds are elsewhere, which would ensure the guest doesn’t go to the BR location.

I asked one guy, “So the owner should shell out money so others can continue to make money?”. He basically agreed. I tried to explain if that’s the case, why doesn’t the owner just pay the employees directly to not work for a week or 2 since it would be less money than continuing to stay open.
