A great moment at dinner tonight

It was a beautiful evening so my friend and I decided to take her dog to a restaurant patio. There we were supping on a couple of brews and enjoying a few dozen raw oysters in this nice weather. We noticed an elderly lady (80s) make her way into her car at an adjacent handicap parking space. She began to pull out, and we were sort of chuckling because it actually took her a few minutes just to back up. She then went a couple of parking spots over and parked again as we were wondering about her faculties. It probably took her about ten minutes as my friend and I were finding amusement in the event. She slowly emerged from her car with a box of Milkbone dog treats and made her way over to us, upon which time she gave the dog a couple of treats. We chatted for a few minutes and then she made her way back to her car. It was then that it hit me that she had parked in another spot solely for the purpose of giving my friend's dog a treat. When I realized this, I went over to her car before she left and gave her some money in order to repay the kind gesture and also so that she could buy another box of treats.

It was a beautiful act of kindness on her part which really moved me. With all the bullshite we go through on a daily basis it was a breath of fresh air for her to go out of her way to spread love and for me to be able to reciprocate. I'm all about good karma and that encounter was an absolute gem.
