2020 Thanksgiving turkey prices

Friends,
As is the custom for the past few years, we shall track area turkey prices. Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey meals are some of my favorite meals of the year, and the stock made from turkey bones is my favorite from which to make gumbo and other rich soups.

Unknown. Weekly special flyer is no longer available online. They say if you join their email list they will mail it to you, but I have yet to receive it.

Pride of the Farm turkey breast $0.99/lb

Stingy as ever, again no turkey sales this year. I am boycotting Langenstein's for the time being.

Unknown. They have an offer for a free frozen turkey up to 16 pounds, but the catch is you must buy a spiral ham.

Winn Dixie turkey is .19 a LB if you spend $30.00..
They also have Smithfield bone in hams for $1.29 a lb..

I've seen them for $.68 a lb. for the Honeysuckle brand in their frozen case. Looks to be their normal price for now since I've seen that price for a couple weeks now.
May go down closer to Thanksgiving Day.

We really are not much of a pie family. We both prefer cakes to pies, and specifically, doberge and cookie cakes. I did ask Mother which of the two pies in your question she prefers. She said, "Oh, I do not like pecans and I do not like pecan pie."
I responded, "Why not?"
"Because they are unsavory, brittle, and chalky."
I can count on my hands how many times we have served pie in this home, and most of the times we have served it, it has been chocolate chess pie or apple pie for July 4.

I just hope Rouse’s does what they did last year, 25¢ per pound turkeys with any $25 purchase. I grabbed four of them. Smoked, sliced, and vacuumed them all up.
