One dimensional restaurants and teams never win a tourney. They may pull off an upset or two, but not the whole thing.

this depends on how seriously the people vote. i can see Opie's winning the whole thing as well considering how many people on this board ride his junk in hopes of a free meal or discount (no offense, boudin balls are slamming! )

The zydeco breakfast makes Cafe Des Ami a quintessential spot/experience in Louisiana.

I have always wanted to go to Cafe Des Ami for the Zydeco breakfast. It is certainly on my list of things to do.

Havent tried Atcha's too far of a drive from where I live.

I really like Dempsey's alot so I cant argue there but Opies is pretty much same category and I like them too. But Opie posts here so thats the reason for that and Guiche(sp?) has been missing lately lol. But Demseys has a shot at making my BR 5 list and not at large bid too.

Not a big fan of Mason's Grill. Like Little Saigon but dont know how it will stack up when it goes up against the NOE Vietnamese but in that category I have also been liking Tasty Casian lately.

Also, Central Grocery could make a run and all they have is one thing on the menu...

You never know. That's why this time of year is so intriguing.

I don't know how you are going to do this without divisions...Price range...etc.....Let's face it Opie's is not trying to compete with Jubans....Central Grocery is not trying to compete with Stellas...A pizza joint is not in competition with a Chinese Takie outie...just saying or rather asking

This is going to be epic!! Twelve from NO is going to be very difficult. We should have atleast half of the " Elite Eight" if we do our job correctly.

you need to go. Excellent, very cheap food. The owner is one hellofa nice guy AND it's an excellent place to get spices on the cheap.

I think Laffy/Acadiana needs a boudin spot. I would love to see something like Best Stop go heads up against something like Middendorf's/Gautreau's or anything really...

You should try the Crab and Shrimp (or is it corn and shrimp?) soup one time instead of the gumbo with that. Their fried has improved too.
Other item they have that is exceptional is the seafood stuffed potato

Absolutely, but growing up the lakefront and Metry were really similar to me. Also, just wanted to give that spot some love....

Thought about that too but its hard to classify as a restaurant.. Maybe you can sneak Don's in since they have seating to eat their plate lunches.

imho the Best boudin in Lafayette Parish is actually Don's Specialty Meats. Best Stop is in Cankton, a good 10 miles northwest of Lafayette Parish
