The only one from Boston looks horrible. I've never even heard of this place, but I have no desire to go there after seeing this photo.

La Petite Grocery's burger is much better than cowbell or company.

I've had Cowbell, Company, Matt's Bar, and Husk.

Matt's Bar "Jucy Lucy" is overrated AF. Cowbell used to be my favorite in New Orleans, but Company has been better the last couple times I've visited each. The burger at Husk was fantastic, I can attest to that.

IMO, burgers should be classified in different categories (similar to pizza). A thin style burger served at a casual spot like Company, is different from a thick style burger served at a restaurant like LPG.

I knew this would be on the list:

quote:

#30 Hamburger Fonfon, Chez Fonfon (Birmingham, Alabama) In Birmingham, Frank and Pardis Stitt are justly famous for their Highlands Bar & Grill (one of the first contemporary Southern restaurants anywhere) and Italian-Southern (as opposed to Southern Italian) classic Bottega, but they get the cozy French bistro thing right, too, at Chez Fonfon. A cozy French bistro, that is, where the country pâté, trout amandine and croque-monsieur share a menu with the Hamburger Fonfon. To make this impressive burger, chefs grind chuck in house and form it into 8-ounce patties, to be griddled and topped with Comté cheese (whose sharp, nutty flavor adds a racy French aspect to the proceedings), along with grilled red onion, lettuce, pickle and tomato. Très bien.

I'd argue that it's not even the best burger in Birmingham. Everyone raises a lot of hell about it though.

Totally and completely agree. Didn't someone mention an extension at one time that eliminated those slideshows and presented all of the pictures at once?

Been to probably 5 on the list, and none were among my favorite 3 burgers of my life.

PJ Clarkes in the top 10 is a complete joke. Place is an average burger joint in NYC. There are a dozen better places just in Manhattan

why do people this company burger is great. it is decent but the best thing about company burger is their mayo bar. and it is just a mayo bar.

it is basically a really good fast food burger.

I did notice those. I'm not a fan of pickles, fried or otherwise, but my wife would lose her shite over those.

Lived in Bham for 13 years and loved their burger. Personally I found it worth the local hype. It’s been at least since 2012 since I’ve eaten there though. Has the quality dropped recently?

Is Cowbell still asking Nazi's to dine elsewhere?

Yup, I still find it very strange that it's the FIRST thing on their website. Did I miss where Nazis had weekly dinners there for a while or something?

Wow, you are correct!
quote:

COWBELL welcomes everyone However, if you believe it is acceptable to condone hate, racism, and those equally abhorrent tenets inherent to the failed ideologies of both the white supremacy movement and the Nazi Party, we respectfully encourage you to dine elsewhere. Hate is not welcome at COWBELL. Fear provides the fuel, Silence gives it a home. TEACH PEACE.

I swear why is it that every thread on this board have to be interjected with someone's political crap. The thread is about a poll on the 101 best burgers across America. Not about the political or ideology of the people that own them.

In fairness, Cowbell makes their restaurant about their political ideology

This is what greets you when you open their webpage. Check it out yourself. You cant even get to their webpage without first being introduced to politics
