#Browns Gordon is getting no special treatment, lg source says. Just going by terms of the new policy. (4th violation equals 10 games).

Except it wouldn't be a violation under the new policy

Again, that doesn't even make sense.
Under the new policy, he didn't test positive. His third violation was last year for codeine....so.....yeah

except he failed a test under the old one is my guess

Thought part of the deal of getting the suspension down from 4 to 2 was to about stage 3? Failing that test should have put him in stage 4 but he never failed any tests in stage 4

He is in stage 3.
The positive test last year put him in stage 4, hence the year long suspension.
I don't know. Maybe what the league is saying is that....his positive test came in 2013 so he's shite out of luck and it still counts....but under the new policy, a fourth failed test is only 10 games, not a full season.
That's the only thing that would work.
But even so, it's still bullshite because he was suspended in 2014

Yup. These reporters are all out of whack right now trying to cover the Rice story and the constantly updating player's contract amendments.

He hasn't failed a test under the new policy. It doesnt look like they are just going to erase the old failed test. Rather they are going to reduce the suspension based on what the new policy says(the punishment).

If this is the case, it still is quite shitty since it wouldn't be a failed test under the new policy. It's a gray area for sure, but one that gives him strong reason for litigation. This isn't going away

Michael Salfino @MichaelSalfino
"So Gordon is getting suspended for 10 games because this violation that wasn't a violation was his fourth violation. Got it!"
"Do any of these reports make sense if you think about it for a minute?
"Do not react to any of these reports as fact. Just. Chill."

He's lucky to even be getting a reduced sentence, as is.

Don't know if this has been posted: PFT: Josh Gordon’s status still unclear under new policy

quote:
On the surface, the new rules suggest Gordon shouldn’t be suspended at all. He tested at 16 ng/ml, one over the old limit of 15 ng/ml. With the limit increasing to 35 ng/ml, Gordon in theory should have his ban released completely.
One source tells PFT that Gordon’s suspension won’t be zero, due to other factors. Possibly complicating matters is that the positive triggering the one-year suspension occurred on March 5, six days before the date on which the league year began.

I can't take this.
I'm going to avoid all Josh Gordon news until tonight.

Once player reps vote within hour or so, names of those reinstated players will be made public. In double-digits not expected to exceed 20
