Nope, I think this is Gordon's third failed test in the nfl alone. Plus, he has the DUI.

DUI is worth 2 games but they are going to try and settle and tie it in with the 8 games if it doesn't work out for Gordon in the courts

I don't think so. DUI still in the courts.

Court date is November 18th, with the Browns bye week, Gordon if suspended for 8 games would be come eligible a week prior to his court date.

He failed 1 for codien, one for weed (which with the new policy should not count), what was the third one?

Could be looking at a week 12 return if they give him an additional 2 games for the DUI

If this happens, I am going to rage.

Scale of Happiness vs Suspended games
0-4 games = Happy
5-6 games = Ok, I can deal with it
7-8 games = Hey, what the heck
9+ games = NOW WAIT A DAMN MINUTE

That doesn't make sense. Part of the agreement is to wait for due legal process before suspending players for DUIs. What you said contradicts that.

@AlbertBreer: One thing that's important to remember: Not ALL drug-policy suspensions will be lifted. Only the ones that fall in line with the new rules.

What did I miss?

Under the new agreement Gordon would have never failed the drug test. He would have never been suspended. If the suspensions are reduced it should be all or nothing. There is no good reason why Gordon should get special treatment. He wouldn't be able to be suspended for the DUI yet because it is rumored that the players won the due process caveat.

Really the 8 game suspension rumor makes me wonder about how reliable the vote rumor is in general. But there seems to be a bunch of the typically pretty reliable people reporting it, so I guess we'll see.

Most of y'all are completely missing the point

Gordon tested 1 nanogram/ml over the limit. 1. As in one. 16.0. Limit was 15.0. That's unheard of. How many people do you think were in a siniliar situation to him? None.

You act like Gordon is getting a free pass. No he's not. His situation was so unique. It's not like he got popped for 150.0 on his test and is asking for reinstatement

If he gets convicted, they will try and tie the two games in with the 8.

If it works out for him in court, then he is good.

I already told you he entered the NFL in stage 2 because of previous failed tests in college

That's what I'm saying. It sounds like they're just saying "well, just cut his suspension in half" and not giving a valid reason.

I understand that. The reduced suspension could just be the NFL throwing Gordon a bone.

That was from yesterday but it proves the point that it's black and white. Everyone gets in or no one. It's a union

Except that it isn't black and white. I don't disagree that it is stupid, but this agreement would be for the 2014 NFL season.

It isn't the union here that gets to make that decision

So by your account Justin Blackmon will come off his suspension, too?
