Honestly, I probably would not have picked him up if I was not keeping up with this thread. I think it's just getting overshadowed by the Ray Rice thing.

Same. I've got him in both my leagues and I expect some questions.

I agree in the sense that it should be all or nothing, being that they are either going to allow his test to fall under the new policy, or uphold the policy from last season which is when he failed.

At the same time, they can easily just say since he failed the test during last season's calender year, that he should be gone all year and are doing him a huge favor by only giving him 8 games.

I know the Browns fan in my league that drafted him and then cut him when the suspension was upheld is pissed at me.

Gonna be funny to see the response when his suspension is reduced or removed (fingers crossed).

I wonder if the 8 games is including his DUI.

I don't normally take too much "stock" into what a players projected points are, but I can not WAIT to see his pop up.

I think that's when the butt hurt will flow through my league. They gonna be so mad.

EDT: just FYI, I picked him up after someone that picked him in the 10th round dropped him last week.

What did I miss? I.e., what's the legal reasoning?

When a new drug policy is approved as early as this afternoon, Josh Gordon's suspension expected to be reduced to 8 games, per source.

I'll take 8 games.

I don't think so. DUI still in the courts.

It could but that still wouldn't make sense.

6 additional games for a DUI??? That's bullshite

The only thing I could think of is if they called his reps and said...remember that DUI? Yeah we're going to give you 8 games now and you won't be punished anymore

He tested positive in 2013. He was suspended in 2014. The NFLPA had to negotiate a settlement just so he could be included in the new deal, so yeah, he's lucky he was able to get in on the reinstatements as it is.

So no, it's as black and white as say Wes Welker, who tested and was suspended in 2014.

Thought you knew what you were talking about

Was wondering this myself. Could be looking at a week 12 return if they give him an additional 2 games for the DUI.

Then WTF is he getting suspended 8 games for? One failed drug test?

There's always gray areas. Especially with negotiations, unions and lawyers involved.

That being said, if it is 8 games total, I'm a very happy owner. The chance of him playing any games this year probably started at about .05%.

I disagree. It seems arbitrary to choose only those suspended during the 2014 season to have their slate wiped clean. Why is there a specific date (March whatever) that they are choosing? Why not overturn suspensions dating back to the last collective bargaining agreement?

That was from yesterday but it proves the point that it's black and white. Everyone gets in or no one. It's a union
