OK, so he's getting suspended 8 games for two failed drug tests. He will be suspended for the DUI after November. Will he see the field this season?

It sounds like they're just saying "well, just cut his suspension in half" and not giving a valid reason.

Keep in mind who is saying this. It's not like anything is official yet.

November is his first trial date, if I am not mistaken. Nothing ever gets tried on the first trial date. Also, assuming its his first DWI, he probably will end up pleading to a lesser charge, thus no DWI conviction. It is not special treatment to have delays or plead it down. most juridictions that is standard operating procedure. The DWI arrest should be irrelevant to the reinstatement discussions.

A trial for a DUI does not take that long. If it does, he won't be playing during it. He will probably take a plea.

The spotlight doesn't help his DUI situation.

A good lawyer keeps finding a reason to put it off until the cop fails to show up.

Not really.

In the NFL, it usually takes about a year for a guy to get suspended for a DUI or other arrest after it "plays out in the court system"

He'll show up for this one. I'd hate to be the cop that didn't show up for a case being covered by the national sports media.

He blew a 0.09. He is getting out of that. e will plea it down or challenge it completely as the accuracy of the machine was probably off +-0.01 due to lack of proper maintenance and calibration.

Before this point, due process was not a factor. Suspensions came before a conviction.

I see what your saying but they set limits for a reason

.09 is still failing. The THC levels were still failing.

Then he probably won't be suspended for it at all.

Not under the new agreement. That's the whole point of this thing.

The standard for a positive marijuana test would be raised significantly from the current 15 ng/ml of THC, though not all the way up to the current Olympic standard of 150 ng/ml, making it harder to test positive. According to Gordon's account, his most recent positive test would not have been a positive test at all under the new policy.
