Was it just as positive or did some have their doubts?

Confident but not as confident as today. Less variables at play this time around.

This board's optimism in 2020 is why I was so let down. I fed off the energy here and I swore to myself I wouldn't let this board do it to me again so I'm very cautiously optimistic but still fully expect cheating to occur again.

Pretty much the same as today. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying any attention to the polls on RealClear or 270towin. I wouldn't have been nearly as confident.

2020 looked great up until later that night.

Stealing the election is what caused that.
I do think it’s going to be harder this time.

IN their defense it was all going our way until 3 am the next morning. It was obvious that it would be close but Trump was performing well.

Biggest difference is the early voting firewalls are significantly different in this election.

And I have no idea why. He was down 7+% in the polls going into the 2020 election.

Da faq? is that an accusation that I'm a leftist?

Calm down, I'm just nervous after what happened 4 years ago.

I remember it was like 100 degrees when I voted in 2020

It’s amazing what Kamala has been able to do for global warming this term

I'm cautiously optimistic, mainly because of what happened in 2020, they cheated in 2020, and nothing I've seen changes their incentive to do that again in 2024.

We all ignored the polling saying Biden was leading and would win. Everyone thought the polls were rigged. That appeared to be the case as well until the middle of the night.

This year, all the polling says Trump will win.

I think a lot of people felt the polling would be similar to 2016. If I'm correct, Biden had substantial RCP leads in PA, MI, WI. He was also leading in GA, AZ and NC.

Positive but not nearly this positive.

We were clearly the underdogs and were crosstab diving (with a fair amount of validity I should add) to keep our spirits up.

Very confident

That is why caution is abundant now

I was lurking then. You were hearing a lot of the same anecdotes "never seen anything like it" and confidence BUT the numbers didnt back it up as much as they do this year. The Dems had a HUGE early vote, mail vote edge due to harvesting and cheating. I remember the Maricopa shenanigans started early then as well and that was a big topic. A lot of stories of voting machines switching votes all over

Despite all that, Trump still won in 2020 without the open cheating and midnight bumps.

confident but it was different. 2020 the board was confident he could pull an upset (per the polls) and he almost did... it took frickery to stop said upset.

This time the board feels confident he can hold a lead.
