Today sounds like an excellent day to deactivate Facebook forever.

It has evolved into a relentless, tireless, and immature rant for any topic under the sun over the past few years. I don't have the app on my phone anymore....

I don't think I can fully process this evening and election. It has been horribly traumatizing to read the sexist, racist, and xenophobic comments made by Trump and his VP. To read of my family proudly telling me they voted for this man. To know that so many in my country, one I truly do love and want the best for, support someone with so much hate in their heart.

To say this has been hard is putting it lightly. I woke up at 3am to watch the results come in and woke up to shock. I sat on the phone with my mother for 3 hours sobbing in sadness and disappointment. Disappointment in my country. Disappointment in my family.

Trump has said he can unite this country, but how can you unite it when you earned votes by supporting hate?

I'm starting to get angry.

I know that there has been progress made by so many great movements in the past years. That so many of my friends have been fighting the good fight for equality and justice and we can not stop. In these hardships we will define who we are.

I read online someone saying that tomorrow they will wake up and keep trying to do good. That you don't have to vote on being a good person, just be one in your actions.

We need keep doing good and fighting for the causes we believe in to make sure we live in the world we want. One ruled not by hate, but love.
