It was open previously, but has now closed. They posted on Facebook with no explanation. Simply said they were temporarily closed with no reopen date. Hope the restaurant makes it.

Yes, even though it says "temporarily", there's something ominous feeling in the post. Most places give more info. A few days ago, they posted a special for the night.

Places in the FQ really aren't feasible for take out options, so they have to make it with the limited seating capacity. Can't see them re-opening until, at a minimum, phase 2 and 50% occupancy, is allowed in the city. Even tghen, with little to no tourism, hard to see crowds flocking there.

I know some powers-that-be over there. The business is fine, they just don't like dealing with the red tape of phase 1. They'll be back.

I think they expected the mayor to be reasonable and open up to Phase 2 with the rest of the state, so they would only be in Phase 1 for a short period of time.
When she didn't do that, it isn't feasible to stay open.

Good to know.

Serious question. Some of the owners of iconic restaurants, especially families like the Prudhommes and Brennans, would seem to swing a fairly powerful stick in New Orleans. Are they not able to apply any pressure on LaToya to get things moving? Between the restaurants and hotels, I am blown away that she continues to keep things locked down.

Haven’t you heard? She won’t be bullied.

Look at Gulf Shores, AL! We are wide arse open (50% occupancy for restaurants) but 100 % occupancy for Rentals with no one wearing masks. Haven’t seen anyone of official capacity enforce rules and regulations. Money talks and bullshite walks.

Oh man. That is sad. Really sad.

I've spoken with a member of her esteemed business "leader" reopening committee. It's nothing more than clueless yes men and women. She refuses to meet with or speak to anyone else.

Not sure who is more of an idiot....the mayor of new orleans or the mayor of baton rouge...
