So what about the large portion of the population that don't pay any taxes, should they even get a vaccine, Chuck?

They will continue killing each other at a high rate, vaccinations notwithstanding.

I can see his argument, and I could very easily see the argument that high profile athletes taking the vaccine would push a lot of people to go get it that may be on the fence.

Agreed. Or, at least he understands to talk to the values of the people most likely to disagree with him, instead of just pounding the table to make activist types happy.

I honestly agree with Barkley. The average NBA salary is like 8M. There is a huge chunk going to taxes. The wealthy should get first crack. Almost half the country doesn't even pay taxes. So the ones that do and pay the most should get the benefit of the program they mostly financed. That is just practical..

To be fair, a lot of them came from horrible, awful, terrible situations and definitely grew up poor.

I completely agree. the ones who contribute the most to society should go first. Maybe that would get some of the leaches of society to want to contribute.

I wouldn’t mind them going earlier relative to their age bracket, based on their occupational demands (high travel/close contact inherent to the occupation and unavoidable). But they shouldn’t jump in ahead of the elderly.
Is the point of the vaccine to reduce deaths in those susceptible, or to reduce spread?
