I'm one of the few (who will admit it) who liked the Seinfeld finale.
Family Ties, Cheers and MTMoore were all very good.
MASH was OK but the show had tailed off.
Series finales didn't really become a thing until the late 70s, so is there any doubt the greatest finale would have been Hogans Heroes? The series wasn't renewed so it just ended with a normal episode. Imagine the Allied tanks driving up to the Stalag 13 gate and Hogan showing Klink, Burkhalter and Hogstetter their operation, then sending everybody but Schultz to allied prisoner camps.

Why did I get three downvotes for Scrubs and Buffy??
If I wanted downvotes I would have stated my opinion that while Justified is one of my favorite shows of all time, I found the finale just ok and a bit overrated
The last scene with Raylan and Boyd is great though

The true Scrubs series finale was the most perfect I have ever seen. From wrapping up story to even the soundtrack.
Another favorite of mine is Star Trek Next Generation.
Agree with both and almost included TNG in my post

As much as I love Quantum Leap the Finale but made me happy and pissed me off.
That's what makes QL such a tremendous finale'
Yep, a gut punch but very effective

I'm one of the few that the Seinfeld finale has grown on since it first came on. I enjoy it now.
Yeah I didn’t mind it at all when it aired. I thought it worked pretty well. Haven’t watched in years though so will have to revisit
Saw a couple of mentions of The Wonder Years. So good. I remember being legit saddened to hear that Jack passes away not long after the finale. Wanted him to enjoy his golden years
One I’ll mention that I’m actually not sure if people agree with or not is Firefly.
I know everyone considers it one of the worst cancellations of all time, and rightfully so, but I actually think Joss did a fantastic job, likely on the fly once it became clear it was on the chopping block, of giving it a true ending.
I thought it was great as a series finale, with the potential to lead into more stories if given the opportunity. Love Serenity and need more movies
Inara forever

Fringe has one of the all-time best finale episodes, IMO.
Orphan Black was pretty good in that "everybody got theirs" good and bad.
Farscape if you count Peacekeeper Wars as the finale.

Was (and still am) a huge Hogan's Heroes fan. I've thought about what the series finale should have been. Would have been great.

Final episode of the original Charmed was good.

The Shield had a good ending.
This right here. What a gut punch that finale was. Holds up with repeat viewings, too.

Lot of good ones already posted...Burn Notice deserves a mention in this thread.

The finale of The Office should be a case study in how you wrap up a series. It was perfect. Every character got closure. Even the ones you didn’t care to.

Just finished “Parenthood” while quarantined with ‘Rona. Hated last season, but finale was nice.

Frasier and The Middle.

For me, probably Mad Men.
Really wrapped up all the characters that were still around, some for better (Joan with her new business, Peggy and Stan together, Pete and Trudy back together/Pete working for Learjet, Roger in a content situation with Don's ex-mother-in-law) or worse (Betty resigned to her death).
The ending visually/experience wise was a an almost perfect cap on a series that took us almost perfectly through the 1960 to 1970.
And, of course, Don Draper finally comes to terms with (and embraces) who and what he is at the very end.
Loved the fact that shortly before the finale, you got that foreshadowing when the head of McCann Erickson is trying to assuage Don Draper's discomfort with the idea of working for the big firm with promises of working on the really big accounts, ending his list with "COCA - COLA".

The Leftovers (although some didnt like it)
Parks and Rec
The Newsroom
The Wire
Eastbound and Down
The greatest final scene, not necessarily the episode, is from Black Sails. I honestly dont know how you could end a show better than that. Fantastic.

quote:I just finished this series. I thought the self-actualization of Don at the end with his smile, and the segue to the Coca Cola "I'd like to teach the world to sing" ad was perfect. Don came to grips with himself and created one of the most endearing and cherished ad campaigns ever. It was a perfect ending .
