I'm glad that I'm on the side that doesn't need a stimulus check.

I can respect that position but we both know that's not going to happen. I agree with some sort of bailout because this was not caused by bad practices but by government intervention.

looks like this "stimulus" discriminates against people with "dependents" in college.

Page 781 of the bill provides $25 million to the 435 members of the House of Representatives to cover "salary and expenses."

Also buried in the bill, $25 million would be allocated for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Just hilarious and sad at the same time.

How so?

CNN says children under 16 are dependents... not college students.

Dependents are dependents. Right? I haven’t seen the age of 16 mentioned anywhere

CNN) - If you're a single U.S. resident and your adjusted gross income is $75,000 or less, you will get a $1,200 check from the U.S. government.

The more you earn, the less you will get. You get nothing if you make $99,000 a year or more.

That's based on the $2 trillion coronavirus outbreak stimulus bill that passed the Senate overnight Wednesday. The bill still must go through the House - a vote to pass it is expected Friday - and be signed into law by the president.

The income levels are based on tax returns for 2019. For those who have not yet filed their taxes this year, it will be based on 2018 returns.

For married couples, you will receive $2,400 if you make a combined $150,000 or less. People making above that will receive a lesser amount on a sliding scale up to people who make $198,000 or more, who will not receive money.

Parents with children who are 16 years old and younger will receive $500 per child. That also phases out for people with higher incomes - single parents who make $109,000 or more and couples making $208,000 or more will get nothing.

25 million for the Kennedy Center was the right move. Coronavirus hates opera music.

I can’t remember the source of the quote but a prominent writer thirty years or so ago referred to Ballet as “Gay Baseball”.

Yeah, it seems like a very small bandaid being applied to a very massive injury.

I’ve been consistent on here. There is no two parties. WWE wrestling, both parties celebrate at the bank. I’m convinced the average person is just not very smart. I base that on the fact that I’m not very smart and have known for years these guys are all in the same bubble. Big corporations, Congress, FBI, federal gov, and the bottom feeders the media, etc.......

I won’t get a dime and that’s fine I don’t need it. Hopefully people will use this money wisely. I know that won’t happen
