Pattinson has the frame to bulk up too. He'll do fine as The Batman.

Im actually really happy about this. I think people that havent been paying attentions will end up saying "wow, who would have guessed he would have been so good in that role?"

A lot of people. It also helps that i actually have never seen him in Twilight.

Does anyone else think he might knock it out the park?

Bruce is usually a cold, calculating sociopath that can be charming. I think he can play that really well.

The biggest knock on him is "he was in Twilight!" most people cry about this have never watched twilight (a shitty movie no doubt, but the point remains) much less ever seen Pattinson in any other movies. He'll crush it.

It’s the chickiest of chick flicks but he and Waltz were great in Water for Elephants.

I think he will do well. Hopefully, he will get a good story to work with.

God...I hope there's no origin story.

I'll take a wait and see. We all hated Affleck at one time and he was ok.

Ya never know.

I believe in Pattinson.

Might take him a film or two to really grow into the role though. I do hope since they’ve cast a young Batman that they plan on doing more than a trilogy and will do multiple films.

Hollywood Reporter: Pattinson tried on the Bat-suit
quote:

As opposed to most superhero casting efforts, which often include far-and-wide searches and dozens of screen tests for the likes of Superman or more recently, Spider-Man, the Batman process was notably smooth.

“It was quick,” says one Warners insider. “Quicker than normal.”
quote:

The two actors in short order became the only contenders, and during the week of May 20, when Pattinson flew in from Cannes, both shot screen tests in costume on the Burbank lot. Each had a pre-negotiated deal in place, ready to go into effect for whoever had the final contingency lifted, the screen test.

Pattinson and Hoult put on a suit from a previous Batman movie, as has become customary in the Bat-test process. (Christian Bale, before landing Batman Begins, performed his test in the suit used by Val Kilmer in 1995’s Batman Forever, for instance.) Did they embody the character? How did their eyes look and act? Is there a specialness to them? Those were the questions Reeves and the studio wanted answered.
