Yea because teams just don't give up on HOF qb's after one season on the team.....

Brees was coming up in a time where rookie QBs didn’t light it up and the defensive rules weren’t as favorable for QBs.

I see Bridgewater have a ceiling of a Dalton type. Serviceable, and can win a lot of games if the surrounding talent is good.

AP got injured in game 1 of Bridgewater's rookie year. He went 6-6 His weapons were:

Matt Asiata
31 year old Greg Jennings
Jarius Wright
Cordarelle Patteron

Year two he goes 11-5 with Peterson back. Allow TB's passing stats to hold serious weight while throwing to

22 year old rookie Stefon Diggs
Mike Wallace
Jarius Wright
Kyle Rudolph

on a team with a 50/50 pass/run balance

Bridgewater's stats mean dick

And I would make the trade, Rosen played behind an Oline about as good as TB had that last game he started but he didn't have anyone on the lvl as MT and he looked about as good as Rosen that game....

I would make the trade as well. Cheap backup QB for a year, let him mature and learn from #9. Next year TB is going to expect 10-15 million in a multi year deal. Atleast if you bust on Rosen you do it cheaply.

With the 2019 Saints roster the 63rd pick is going to get you depth and not a starter.

Bridgewater ceiling is Carson Palmer IMO. Pretty good option to have around. However, that option is here for one more year based on contract.

I didn’t watch Rosen last year, so I don’t know how good or bad he was. I do know Goff was terrible his first year. So were a lot of QBs that became good. That being said, a lot of QBs are bad and never become good.

This is one where the coaches have to make the call on how good they think I guy can be. The fact that he’s on a cheap contract for multiple years really helps.

I’d hate to lose Teddy B., but I wouldn’t hate the trade if the coaches had confidence in Rosen.

Why would AZ want Bridgewater, who is expensive for a back up, if they are drafting Murray?

He would be a veteran backup that has a one year deal and I "think" the Saints would be on the hook for bulk of the contract in 2019.

Ah, I didn’t know the Saints were on the hook. That makes more sense

Like I said, I "think". Here is his contract details and I am sure someone can better understand this than me.

Spotrac Contract Details.

Drew would have to definitively tell Loomis that he is done after this season to even think about something like that

Another year behind Brees, not playing, and he's not getting that kind of $$ on the market IMHO

Maybe I'm wrong, but this year was his chance to get paid

If he were obviously a franchise QB, he wouldn't be acquirable for anything we'd easily part with.

The fact that his rookie year was lackluster at best is why we are aven able to have the discussion.

I don't know if he is or he isn't. But I see enough that I can imagine a future where he's THE guy. Jared Goff's rookie year wasn't all that good either.

It was a fan vote. Not the media vote. Anyone who follows sports media knows they are full of idiots.

Not a bad thought. Rosen was thrown to the dogs his rookie year. Could really flourish in the Saints offense. Brees would have had a bad season in AZ last year. A great QB cannot overcome the shortcomings of the other 10 on the field.

A second & Bridgewater might be tempting to AZ.

Watching his 2018 highlights he doesn't seem to have a strong arm at all. While fairly accurate it looks like he floats the ball in more often than not.

What is up with this steady stream of "get Rosen now" threads?

Dak Prescott is. The Joneses are already bellyaching that Prescott is going have to accept a team friendly contract. I know hell will freeze before the Cowboys would allow Prescott to walk. Just saying the Saints might want to keep their powder dry for a while with the QB situation.
