The logo seems oddly familiar. Oh well, they have to live in Missouri. They need to be cut some slack I guess.

you realize we didnt invent that logo, right?

I think every school that has a Tiger as their mascot uses or has used that logo at some point. LSU, Missouri, Auburn, Princeton.

Doesn't matter we need to claim it and make an issue out of it.

No, it’s so bad, let it go....

An Alabama grad designed it for LSU.

Who invented it
quote:
It is in this time that we find a man named Arthur Evans. He was a former Disney employee who made a name for himself with the Angelus Pacific Co. of Fullerton, CA. Well… sort of. It has been said that he is the most prolific illustrator no one has ever heard of. By 1963, he had penned over 100 logos that spanned many of the biggest name programs in the country. in fact, Angelus Pacific claims to be responsible for designing over 90 percent of college mascots being used at the time.
?
In a world without google, their company thrived by criss-crossing the nation and selling mascots to anyone who wanted one. This was all done before the days of trademarking athletic logos, much less licensing and royalty revenue. So if your team was the Tigers, you’d buy the tiger logo and slap your school’s letters across the cap.

California, makes sense. Disney characters.

I believe it was a cartoonist in California named Arthur Evans who created it for the Occidental College Tigers in L.A. back in the 1930’s. Then it made its way around to many schools with Tiger nicknames including LSU, Princeton, Auburn and Missouri among many others. LINK
ETA: BS beat me to it.

I’m with ya, OP. But these MO helmet logos look better than the weird black n silver ones they had earlier in the season
Posted on 12/31/18 at 6:31 pm to ShermanTxTiger
Now they're playing neck! WTF?
Posted on 12/31/18 at 6:48 pm to Cuz413
Many schools play neck. Quite a few predominately black universities play it. LSU didn't invent neck plus who gives a crap what school plays it.

Throw Clemson in the mix too.

I could actually watch some of the game with this tiger . Their normal logo, whatever that thing is, just doesn't look like a tiger to me. It's horrible, I can't look at that thing for long

It looks better than the "toons" version we used a few years back.
