Is this a real checking account? I opened one up and would like to fund it but I am not sure if I should trust a credit card company with my checking account? Is Capital One an actual bank? Or is this different than your regular bank? Basically, can i trust them with my money? Thanks

Had one for a couple of years now that I use as a local bank for cash deposits since most of my banking is done through USAA and NFCU. Never had a problem with it and the interest rates aren't bad either.

Yes it is and I have had one for awhile. I was originally an ING Direct customer for several years. ING sold ING Direct to Capital One back in 2012 and re branded it as Capital One 360.
Though I don't use it as my primary checking anymore. I use it now only for Venmo, Paypal, and Zelle payments.

I use 360 checking and yes it works the same as any other checking account. All Capital One branch locations can process any in-person servicing you need.
Huh? I think of Capital One as a bank first and foremost, that also dabbles in credit cards. Not sure why their having credit cards would make them untrustworthy as a bank
Yes..where are you from? I thought Capital One was pretty big nationally as far as brand recognition and locations go

Ahh, didn't realize. I was in high school when they bought Hibernia. I had my first account with Hibernia, so I got turned onto CO when that happened. I've only ever known them as a bank

my experience as well. Never had any issues with them.
Even gave my wife and I a candle or something when we went into the branch to get a cashiers check for our downpayment on our home.

Branch presence is concentrated in Louisiana, Texas, DC & NYC as a result of them purchasing 3 separate regional banks at different times - Hibernia (LA & TX), Chevy Chase Bank (DC), Northfork Bank (NYC)

I have a 360 checking account. Had a savings account through Barksdale Fed Credit Union but recently closed it to open 360 checking. I just like the capital one app and since my auto loan is through them I consolidated. I have no complaints.

We use their business products. Spark is 2% cash back, savings account pays over 1%, and checking is free.
I prefer chase for personal banking. Better reward cards too.

I have a 360 account for when I travel (doesn't charge foreign transaction fees or ATM fees at ATMs abroad), and it's perfectly fine.

Is this a legitimate question? They are one of the largest banks in the country and all accounts are FDIC insured. 360 accounts are their online platform.
