All this concern for BK being a “cultural fit” in Louisiana has it backwards

LSU needs a cultural change…we need stability, discipline, professionalism and integrity…we have that with our new coach.
He’ll fit into our area’s culture just fine.

Hopefully CBK gets rid of the NFLSU virus that has infected the program. Just run a solid program, the rest will take care of itself.

I don't live in Louisiana but the great thing is Louisianians make outsiders feel right at home.

Marcus Spears said it best, “Does he fit culturally? I’ll tell you what the hell fits culturally, when you win football games, you fit immediately!”

Miles and Saban weren't Southerners either

Totally agree with this. This is a football program and a business. If you want a personality fit, go to a dating site. What LSU needs is a culture change. LSU needs a coach who will come in and take full command of the program. Not just try to win A championship, but build a championship program. That's what we got. The cultural "fit" will come around. We will learn to adjust.

This is what I said from the start. We needed a complete make over. I'm not to thrilled with the hire but one thing he brings is stability. I hope he does great!

Yeah for some reason people thought LSU was going to fire O to hire another O

Hate to quote Scone, but he made a good point about cultural fit…

Nick Saban
Dinardo
Skip
Brown

Would be bad cultural fits by today’s talking point

Miles was the quintessential mid west goon….and he was beloved

(I mean goon as a term of endearment)

Agreed, there are worse places in the US to be than an Irish American Catholic in South LA.

Right but West Virginia is culturally different from South Louisiana. Point is that most HCs we've had at LSU in my lifetime weren't from around here. Dinardo was from NY. Dale Brown was from one of the Dakotas. It's irrelevant.

Ignore all that noise. It's just midwesterners being elitists. LSU's locker room could definitely use a culture change, but that's not at all what they mean.

Paul Dietzel grew up halfway between Columbus and Cleveland.

He'll be fine hanging out with other rich people. It's not like he's going to be hanging out at Texaco on his days off and eating gas station boudin with Boudreau and Thibodeaux.

Exactly. It's a stupid fricking talking point that needs to die a swift death. I see it infecting fans' response to the hire. As if the players won't listen to him or the recruits won't come because he doesn't go to fais-do-dos or some shite. Really...frick off, already.

I want a NEW CULTURE - don't want a cultural fit.

I'd love to have seen his reaction to the facilities.

Yeah, Notre Dame has one of the most prestigious, storied football histories ever... but nothing can compare to that feeling when you first see Tiger Stadium, looking skyward at this monstrosity of beautiful architecture that represents the hopes and pride of an entire state.

Dude had to have been impressed. Yeah, they've got a football culture up north, but they're also really big into baseball and basketball and hockey and it spreads out their passion. In the Boot, football is everything, and the other sports are what you follow to pass the time waiting for football to start again.

If he's never been to a crawfish boil or had a good etouffe, he's in for a treat.
