Why would Dabo even consider leaving Clemson?

That is the cushiest job on a terrible conference. The guy can literally go an entire regular season without facing a ranked opponent in some years, and get into the playoffs easily.

The SEC west is a buzz saw.

Also, absolutely do not want Dabo.

Dabo without venables is going to be ugly. People will jump off that train after seeing what happens when he loses him.

Timing. It feels like they might be slipping a bit, they have QB uncertainty going forward, and it sounds like Venables is finally leaving.

He might be looking to get out before a potential slide.

agreed- also: he’s not coming to LSU. That’s laughable.

Swinney loathes the fact Clemson is in the ACC. Every time someone even remotely mentions "you have an easy schedule" or "you don't play anyone" it irks him so much he almost loses it. Then he goes into his "salesman mode" and vigorously defends Clemson and the ACC. I think he is tired of it.

Plus once OU and Texas join the SEC you will have a super conference that all the best athletes in the South will want to play in. Clemson will be have to compete against that recruiting wise. They will be reduced somewhat.

I can see Swinney making the jump to LSU just to be in the SEC. Just my opinion.

i would say he spoiled the hell out of Clemson fans and this year has been a total failure in there eyes and want his head for it....not saying it would be much better here because we would have his head as well for the failure of a season he has had

Simple answer:

Have you ever been to Clemson, S.C.?

I have. Not much there.
