Riley went to USC because he wants no part of the SEC every year. It's easier to win out there and honestly less expectation. I don't think it has anything to do with LSU.

Except that Louisiana scores statistically far worse in all of those per capita.

In fact, all of the south does. Biggest taker states out there. The United States would literally crumble without the 4th largest economy in the world that is California.

He didn't want the job he was sitting pretty at either. Because they were moving to the big bad SEC and he wasn't down with it. This was a conference move not a coaching position move. USC just happen to be sitting there for the prime position to get out while before he is exposed by SEC play.

Dude. This place has been a shithole for 30 years. Everyone has left. Edwards has destroyed this state. Toya has destroyed NOLA. Hurricanes the last two years. Would you transplant here?

Taking the USC job for Riley is a smarter move:

Great recruiting base
Los Angeles > BR
Same money (Just Google USC endowment vs LSU endowment) there’s no comparison
Easier path to Division and Conf championship
Easier path to Playoff
