Did a lot of digging to create the following letter for myself, my wife, and my family. The reason I posted this is because I'm hearing more and more about fetal cell tissue being used in research for commonly used medications. I headed that rebuttal off at the pass in the bolded part below.

Copy it directly, modify it (this is for CMS, if your company is trying to potentially comply with OSHA make that change), whatever. Just beware that the Tylenol argument misses the religious objection being made.

quote:

To Whom It May Concern,

Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act prohibits employer discrimination for religious beliefs, observances, or practices; which is recognized within the November 4th, 2021, emergency regulation issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to address the Covid-19 threat. This law requires employers to reasonably accommodate employee's sincerely held religious beliefs. Furthermore, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC) guidelines expect the employer to generally assume that a request for a religious accommodation is based on sincerely held religious beliefs.

I am writing to you to request a religious accommodation from the Covid-19 vaccine requirement put forth by the CMS, and attest that the following is my sincerely held religious belief.

God's word, as revealed to man by the Holy Scripture, informs us of the reality that a human being is created at conception.

- Psalm 139:13-16
- Job 10:11-12
- Isaiah 44:24

My God knows each and every human being, even before the miracle of birth, and has given each of us a purpose in life.

- Jeremiah 1:5
- Luke 1:15
- Ephesians 1:3-4
- Isaiah 49:1, 5

The act of abortion, though considered legal by the United States Federal Government as of 1973, does not operate accordingly with my deeply and sincerely held religious beliefs that life begins at conception. The Holy Scripture prohibits the taking of human life, and as highlighted in the above scripture that prohibition extends to the pre-born. Any technologies developed from the intentional taking of any human life has been obtained through immoral means. To borrow a legal metaphor, such technologies are considered by my faith to be fruit from a poisonous tree. My research has confirmed that the Covid-19 vaccine did use materials immorally harvested from a human being in their development. The Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 vaccines used fetal cell line HEK 293 (taken from a 1973 abortion that took place in the Netherlands), and the Johnson and Johnson Covid 19 vaccines used fetal cell line PER.C6 (taken from a 1985 abortion that took place in the Netherlands). My faith removes my choice in this matter. The Holy Scripture tells us, and I firmly believe, that we can only serve one master (Matthew 6:24). Requiring me to receive the Covid-19 vaccine is requiring me to accept something obtained through immoral means; it is requiring me to value someone or something above my God and His commandments. This is something my faith does not allow me to do, and Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act protects me from.

I would like to take this time to address a concern I've seen other businesses voice to their employees. While many over-the-counter and commonly prescribed medications have also been tested on the fetal cell line HEK 293, usage of most of those medications isn't prohibited by my faith since the finished product is what was tested on the fetal cell tissue. Such testing goes against The Holy Scripture, but those medications existed in their completed forms before being tested in fetal cell line HEK 293. I have deeply prayed, and do not believe, that those medications should be avoided simply because we've chosen to use them improperly after their development.

If you have any further concerns or questions, please email me at _______________________.

Thank you for your consideration,

I believe most are.

But a few have some a nonbinary snarky 25 year old with blue hair who read on a blog post once that you can't take Tylenol if you avoid drugs that have been tested on fetal tissue because they don't understand the religious objection being made.

Dude your “religious belief” can simply that you feel this about the vaccines

And it would be hard for a reasonable person to argue that.

Will modify a couple little things, but I'm saving this for the future. Hopefully I won't need it.

Thanks.

I just used the prayer/body is a temple/violating this temple with something that God has led me not to take after a lot of prayer is sin angle. I completely left the the abortion angle out. Mine was approved. Looks like most reasonable companies are accepting most requests, especially companies in red states.

I work for a Fortune 50 company, when it comes to religious exemptions for Covid19, most companies are ready to give religious exemptions, just keep it short and to the point.

This is NOT the way you should ask for a religious exemption.

Do not be detailed, just state your deeply held religious beliefs etc...You're not taking it.
