What would that kind of war look like to you

If it's a civil war, it would look like a whole lot of chaos, death, destruction and misery. There would be massive suffering. Atrocities would be committed on all sides. Strongmen would emerge. There would be a good chance that what would result would not resemble representative democracy.

Give me a break. The far left that’s trying to drive a wedge wouldn’t know what to do in a combative war.

They bring fricking skateboards for weapons. Have you seen the way they act when they have a scratch on their legs? They cover their faces so they won’t be identified online Slap people and run away and scream on bullhorns over and over again.

Now take about 3,000 National Guard Troops and some armor vehicles with machine guns loaded and aiming at them (not just standing there for camera time and illusions) and find out how much they believe in their protests or their beliefs.

I think an extreme ideology seizing power a la the Nazis in the Weimar Republic is way more likely than a Civil War. But if there was a war it would be cells of people fighting to protect their communities or to advance a cause, there wouldn’t be entire states seceding like the first Civil War.

A civil war is indeed possible and this is a more likely scenario than what we saw in 1860. It would be very bad for everyone. The only ones who would prosper by it are China and Russia.

It definitely is possible but it's fought without guns. It's fought with economic policies.

Wonder what would happen in everyone just decided to stop filing taxes, and businesses stopped deducting and submitting taxes to the federal government. Would the states just begin separating from any federal control? Seems the federal government would be in a pickle, and basically not be able to do anything about it. Solidarity

We are headed toward a socialistic technocracy. Get used to it.

The morphing of industry and government to create an elitist panel of people who run your life.

Each side will, of course, accuse the other of resulting in an authoritarian outcome. In the event of a civil war, there is a good chance that both sides would be right in that accusation.

Possible. Some companies and industries are so huge and in some cases multi-national and can resemble governments themselves.

Not possible. Media has to much influence. There was no such thing as media to distract and brainwash the colonies.

There’s no more gold in Fort Knox. It’s long gone. At least that’s my theory. Closely guarded secret. Someone should demand the government open it up and prove the gold still exists.

There is absolutely no doubt we are headed that way.

"For the good of society" always means people die. The war is individualism vs collectivism.

There might be "two sides" but neither of those sides outnumber independents.

We are not represented.

Technocracy

quote:

Designed in the 1930s by prominent scientists and engineers, Technocracy is a replacement economic system for Capitalism and Free Enterprise. It was adopted by the elite Trilateral Commission in 1973 as its “New International Economic Order”. Today it is expressed as Sustainable Development, Agenda 21, 2030 Agenda, Climate Change, Green Economy, Total Surveillance Society, Smart Grid, Common Core Education Standards and more. These are not isolated issues, but rather are all part of a single strategy to transform the entire global economic system.

I dunno about that. The printing press (including mobile printing presses) was used to great advantages in struggles going back at least to the Glorious Revolution. William of Orange was a master at it. The colonists used printing to advantage leading up to and during the American Revolution - Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere all produced pieces with good propaganda value

One of the biggest sources of income, especially in the south, is social security, so some states break away, they give up that income. Now if runaway inflation makes money worthless and food/gas shortages start happening, it could happen.

I don’t think it’ll cause a civil were 2 sides are fighting against each other. It’ll be more of every man for himself

Everyone wants to say the left are pussies and wouldn't stand a chance but yall ignore the fact that they're winning right now. The difference is that they are organized. They play politics better and they work together. The right is every man for himself. We value our families first and don't take any action until it's a direct threat to our families. And that's why this country is already too far gone

I got banned from a bar a few weeks ago when a Woke bartender said in an extremely racist manner that most black people don’t have IDs. I then sarcastically ask him to point out his clear blatant racism if he thinks most black people don’t know how to find the DMV, and then the bartender bans me claiming I’m a racist thinking black people don’t know where the DMV is. You tell me. We’re fricked.

I would have laughed my arse off asking how many times he carded black people and why, since he thinks they don't have IDs.

Get off social media, especially Facebook.
It’s the real issue.
If Facebook were to completely disappear tomorrow boomers would have no place to argue and spread conspiracy theories

From my perspective and my perspective only, it's going to look a whole helluva lot like right-wing goobers being shocked this liberal is better armed than they are and has no qualms about dusting their stupid arse.

I guess that's what two years overseas wearing the uniform does to a person.

Your perspective sucks.

As is typical with liberals, your hubris leaves you overconfident that right wing goobers don’t study history and know exactly how callous and violent you lefties are.

Don’t know the trigger but I expect both sides come prepared. Fascinating times to be alive.

I hope, as a liberal I have cried hysterically while reading this thread. I have my trans wife’s arms to get behind if things get scarier though
