Kyle shot this rifle exactly once before the night of August 25th, 2020.

On that night, he shot 8 times. None of those shots struck any of the countless bystanders.

Kyle landed 6 of the 8 shots fired into his intended target, the 2 misses came when he was shooting at an upward angle and a moving target while Kyle was seated on the ground after being struck in the back of the head twice (punch/rock and a skateboard) and while the assailant kicked him in the head.

It shows how good of a platform this weapon is for a dire self defense situation.

I've got the same exact AR-15 model as Kyle.

I'll have to go to the range this weekend to fire it in celebration of JUSTICE.

Oh lawd. Get ready for the "Muh revolver" crowd comes in crying how sensible revolvers are while competing with the shotgun "don't even have to aim" crowd.

What's scary is the people still call it a military-grade weapon like it can do more than a typical Ruger Mini-14 rifle. It's not a God gun

And Kyle showed why you might need a 20+ round capacity.

I hear they're easy to lose in boating accidents. Be careful.

It's a superior weapon that gives you a chance even in an ambush. They do not want you to own it when the riot comes to your town or when the CDC comes to check your vaccination status

Its almost like every country in the world has handed out rifles for every conflict since the rifle has existed.

The only time you should use anything but a rifle is when you do not have one anymore.

Nah. Rifles aren’t good weapons for a quick need while in a vehicle or walking around in public. CC handguns have many use cases.

Edit for the situation Kyle was in, it was perfect.

Shotgun with a 20 round drum would've shut the whole street down.

I suspect God was probably guiding his aim. But yes, ARs are pretty bitchin.

Ironically, I have a left handed version which, according to prosecution, doesn’t even exist.

Hey, correct me if I'm wrong:

wasn't that technically the most rapid-fire rifle of the era?
You filled the air bladder up, I think you got something like 15-20 shots before it lost pressure. All you had to do was recock the device and drop another ball in the tube.
You get the 2nd shot off while the other guy is still pouring powder. If you're fast, you might get the 3rd shot off before they shoulder it.
