Wellbutrin apparently works.

It is working well for me. Although I started on it in recent conjunction with quitting drinking and exercising more. I believe all three are working in synergy.

Of course I still have my moments.

People always say this and I am NOT trying to shite all over it. There is truth in it.

When it is at it worst. That is impossible. My “it” was anxiety. At that time I was golfing all the time. Nothing more relaxing than going to the range. I had a full blown panic attack at a range. Left half a bucket of balls dumped on the tee box.

Counseling and meditation are a better option. At its worst. Sometimes medication. Do you want to take a pill the rest of your life? Nope. But I’d take it before chasing off my wife and son or becoming an alcoholic from self medicating. Or the worst killing myself.

OP I wish you well.

And to the poster I quoted. Again I am not shitting on you. I did try it at a golf range. I was just too deep in it.

It’s the stupid day light savings time and the weather. It’s a recipe for disaster this time of year.

Everyone has some level of depression, at least at times.

I was a lot when I was living alone. Drinking all the time only made it worse.

Depends on the strain. Plenty of high sativa hybrid strains for energy and euphoria.

I have had depression in the past from 5 deployments, 2 divorces, the financial problems that go along with that, etc.

I consume a lot of marijuana today. I smoke well over an ounce a month and it helps with the depression but I stay extremely active and productive. I am outside from sun up to sundown every day.

SAD is a real thing. Definitely the worst I’ve felt all year. I believe it subsides eventually.

Hell yes.

The cold and it being so dark pretty early.

I get home from work and eat and go get in bed and am still tired when I get up.

Such a blah feeling lately

I speak from experience.

Mind giving your experience, assuming you have any.

Smoking pot?

I mean, if you want to flex on being more of an expert on that than I am, have at it. I’ll defer to you. I’m just saying that it’s pretty well known that it has an adverse effect on you if you use it a lot, particularly for mental health issues. Same, although different effects, with alcohol.

Mental health problems are real. Some people are just more impervious to the bullshite that is life and suck it up and carry on cause they have responsibilities.

Uh, mental illness exists regardless of 'life responsibilities,' as it is a pathology like any other. The notion that imperviousness has anything to do with it is very stupid.

Not flexing at all. Weed isn't some cool shite to do.. it's just something to do.

Just dislike it when people talk about things they do not know about. If you've never smoked all the different hybrids and have never experienced how they make you feel, maybe stay out of the discussion.

Basically this but I'd add also just find a hobby you really like and do that, as well as talking to somebody about it: family, friends, therapist, etc.

I believe this depression crap is mostly BS. If you were a parent during the war years and you were constantly worrying and wondering about the possibility your soldier, airman, or sailor could be killed at any moment, and you had to live each moment with the possibility of receiving a telegram from Western Union, or you saw a black car pull up to your house with two uniformed service members knocking on your door, THAT is true depression. Grow a set of gonads people.

It's not. That's grief and loss, and the preceding time is likely more anxiety than depression. Grief and loss can beget depression, but depression encompasses more than sadness from an upsetting event.
