Riley to LSU isn't a done deal. Several key Oklahoma boosters are making a strong push to keep him in Norman while several others are pushing to start a search for someone else now. I wouldn't pop open the champagne just yet.

**Edit** Stay positive! Not over yet.

Exactly what I figured. Long way from done. The only thing that is certain is he’s about to get a raise, either in Baton Rouge or to stay in Norman

Others were saying one of the reasons we are getting Lincoln is because OU isn’t willing to match the monster offer we gave him

We already drank the champagne

How would you recommend we get it back in the bottle?

This is actually great news. Of course they'd mobilize, but the benefit of keeping a deal quiet is so that when they do it is too late. If a wedge is already being driven, that is enough.

Unless you’re a key Booster how would you know this?

Not to be a contrarian but this happens every time a popular coach chooses to leave for another school yet coaches change jobs every year! Yes they will try...I think they will come up short because I don't believe this is all about money.

Oklahoma isn't going to match.

They believe they can find someone else.

OU is an organization of many people with multiple opinions, just like any other organization. The good news is it's looking like Riley is a strong lean to LSU, but there is indeed a group of significant Oklahoma boosters making a late, strong push to retain him. With that said, Oklahoma folks are not on the same page, and that bodes well for us. I haven't heard from one - NOT ONE - LSU booster that wouldn't be satisfied with the Riley hire.

You're 100% correct. A lot of it is about ego. These coaches want to feel wanted. Money just makes it easier when they're not. See O. LOL

As expected. They won’t let him walk without a fight. I’m glad we have Woodward on our team.
