Can someone fill me in? I keep seeing the casi-no! signs everywhere. Is it a religious thing? If Republicans think gambling is immoral then they can just…. not gamble. Seems pretty simple to me.

Is there a better justification than Republicans fighting against something for religious reasons instead of letting adults make their own decisions that don’t effect them?

They don't want the area to be trashed out by gambling addicts, chain smokers, and booze hounds?

Casinos are a scourge and a blot on the city. I wish there weren’t any in Shreveport-Bossier.

Jesus went into a temple one time and overturned the blackjack tables. So says the book of John.

But really, Republicans love to preach “freedom!” While inhibiting the rights of people to choose whether to gamble, smoke marijuana, drink before certain hours on Sundays, etc.

They’re told to hate it by politicians and pastors who haven’t been paid off yet. Just using the Edwards strategy.

Harrah’s, Boomtown, and the Miss Gulf Coast casinos are financially funding the Casi-NO movement.

It’s the right of every citizen according to the La. Constitution to vote in gambling in their parishes.

There are moral, religious, and economic reasons to oppose gambling.

There are economic and more government revenues for proponents.

Let the majority decide.
