Are these a thing? Ever see them sold anywhere? No one in my house likes white meat.

I've only ever seen legs, wings, necks and breasts sold in separate pieces, never the thighs.

I've seen legs, but have never seen thighs. Maybe a butcher could help get those or cut them from some turkeys and sell the whole breasts separately.

If you have a Rouse's near you they sell the turkey leg quarters pretty much year round. I also saw them at Whole Foods in Mandeville just this past week.

I've got to say I've never seen turkey leg quarters in Rouses and I regularly shop the one in Mid-City and on Veteran's Blvd. in Metairie.

Don't have either store anywhere near.

only time I ever see them is after the holidays when they break down and sell the leftover whole turkeys. Turkey dark meat is where it’s at

Kroger carries Honey Suckle turkey thighs on occasion.
You also may have some luck hitting up an ethnic market.

Just ask for the butcher/meat manager at your grocery. They can order damn near anything you want.

Seriously? I can see that for chicken on which dark meat is superior. But on a turkey, white is right. Nobody touches the turkey dark meat in my house. I usually just make gumbo with the turkey dark meat on Friday while I pug up the Christmas decorations.

I seen packages of fresh cut turkey thighs at Zuppardo's in Metairie.

Seriously?

When I was in school up in Ruston the local grocery store I think it was a safeway had turkey thighs on sale often fro pennies a lb they were huge. room maate and I would cook them like roasts slow roast sometimes studded with onion and garlic seasoned mix. They were delicous and I search for them ever since and never see them

Turkey wings are underrated.

Yeah, I'll cut those off too, but just for the flats. Whoever gets the body can also have the drumettes.

Bought a whole turkey. Cut it into leg quarters, wings and spatchcock breast. Cooked on my gravity feed all afternoon at 225, then raised to 250 near the end to get to target temps. Best turkey we have ever had. The breast will be made into turkey salad later. Never cooking a bird hole again.

If you see a good price I'd get the whole bird and cut it up yourself. If nobody likes the breasts you can save them for gumbo, turkey noodle soup, or shred it for turkey salad.
