Said the coaches did self scouting last week and it showed the defense is too predictable. Went on to say they need to have more variety of looks on defense to disguise coverages.

Biggest issue on defense is the lack of adjustments and guys not in the right position he stated.

My question is why did it take so long to point out the obvious? It was clear as day the defense was vanilla with basic coverages, no blitzing, same alignment formations with a few stunts every now and then. All of a sudden it took a bye week to come to realization... Lame duck coach who’s inept to possibly fixing anything right. He genuinely might be the most idiotic coach in all of college football.

how do disguises actually work if you never actually blitz?

I would hope it didn't take them just till now to realize it. If it did, I'd be curious to know what that legion of analysts are doing to earn their paycheck, b/c I thought their purpose was two-fold: one, to scout opponents; and two, to self-scout during the season.

Ed had time during the bye week to read the internet.

He did not figure this out on his own...

You know what’s predictable about this defense

Baskerville over pursuing and missing his gap.

Also, Baskerville screwing up in coverage by not dropping deep enough in zone or diverting to pick up the RB when he releases.

Supposedly we have an army of analysts. Why wait until 2/3s of the season has passed to look at yourself?

What is idiotic is that someone would expect an energetic, zealous, in depth analysis from a lame duck coaching staff... WTF do you think they gonna tell us for the next 4 wks.

This is almost as dumb as posters who think there are top level coaches out there actively negotiating with LSU while their current team is in contention for post season conf championships and/or CFP...

because Lane Kiffin called him sunday after the game and said your defense is the same every series and he could score on every possession if he wanted too.

I think this may be the only time in the history of football that the fan base ACTUALLY is smarter than the head coach.

Disguises. Disguise what Ed? U don’t see disguises bc we run the same fricking defense the entire game. You disguise to hide the fact that ur deviating from the norm, which they never do. From the very bottom of my heart, frick u Ed.

Yep. And last year’s defense was too complicated so players were confused all the time.

“We gotta simplify things!”

Just can’t seem to find that middle ground Coach.

Didn't former Alabama players say the same thing during the Miles years?
