Bush was a Republican, Biden is a Democrat.

Seriously that’s the difference.

Biden wants to hurt the country. Bush didn't.

We imported a LOT of oil during Bush.
We produced our own oil during Trump.
We are back to importing a LOT of oil during Biden.

The way to avoid gas price increases is to do Trump.

during bush's presidency we weren't energy independent, so we were at the mercy of OPEC. Shale fracking technology wasn't ready for mass production until obama's presidency, and that's what let us to independent.

under trump, we became independent because he greenlit leases on public land; biden suspended those leases. simple as.

They won't compare Trump's gas prices to Biden? Self-imposed high gas prices for Biden. He's an economic idiot!

Bush was eventually able to lower gas prices by impacting futures trading (in his last SOTU he stated his desire to remove the bans on drilling, eventually Congress followed his lead).

Note that those drops began on the date those ban removals were signed, not after supply increased. Speculators shorted the frick out of oil futures so much that gasoline prices dropped ~50% within six months.

Bush was Greenspan's little bitch. Neither one of them had a freaking clue how to handle an economy that heated up with dot com companies. There should never have been the infamous "dot com bubble" if either of those 2 had a lick of sense. They could have used it as a spring board for growth.

But having said that, even Lil Bush wasn't dumb enough to issue an EO shutting down an XL pipeline in his first day in office under the umbrella of climate change and green new deal bullshite.

None. They’re both disasters. Biden is worse because he has dementia so scary to think who’s really in charge.

Special interests ran the Bush administration. No different from Biden. George W. Bush is no Joe Biden in terms of shittiness, but he was by no means great.

Gas prices aren't high because of Biden.

Energy demand has skyrocketed since the pandemic is coming to an end. Building a new pipeline wouldn't put a dent into gas prices (even though I'm in favor of building more pipelines).

It's an issue that's affecting most of the West. Gas prices have been low for the past few years because the Saudis have been artificially driving down the price.

Let's pretend like one of the largest oil producing countries in the world didn't have 95% of its entire refining & production blown to bits during the Iraq War and let's also pretend that a second war, Afganistan, did not contribute to the demand and supply problem.

Here we have a moron and his minions who are trying to adopt Green Energy today by shutting down oil & gas production with no viable alternative ready for the transition.

War in the ME and damage Katrina /Rita caused to GOM wells and tye refineries in Houston/LC/NOLA areas.

You can start with the week before Katrina. Gas was 1.50$ or so in Louisiana. A week after Rita it was over 3.00 and remained that way for a looongb time. One of the first posts I ever made on Tigersroppings was a month or two after Katrina and in this specific issue.

We were producing at a high rate. We had the Saudis shitting themselves. There were no shortages consumption was high. Work in the patch was plentiful. Then 2008 crash prices through the floor. Economic activity shrunk but we still had ample supply. Those high prices coupled with fracking, exploration and high output led to great supply and ultimately the lower prices you enjoyed until Brandon scared everyone.

Plus there are a bunch of currency and NYMEX guys fricking us because they can
