Those apartments are problematic for this area.
But when people protest new apartment developments in their area because of this near certain eventuality, they’re told they’re wrong, racist, and nimbys. How many times have we seen this cycle in BR? It’s a nearly 100% success rate. Rinse and repeat.

Apartments almost always go downhill around here as they age. I can only think of a few exceptions.

Remember when the advocate tried to spin this back in the summer by using the following phrasing to make it sound like a good thing: “The murders are increasing at a lower rate compared to 2020.”

boom. congrats.

but don’t pay attention to all that, it’s not important. focus your outrage on racist statues, racist street names, asian hate crimes, evil white supremacist anti-vaxxers, and of course plummeting COVID19 #’s.

“Baton Rouge, we can do better”
- Murphy Paul 10/16/20

Maybe that was a poor choice of words, some took it as a challenge

No worries as CD‘s can now safely be sold at midnight in the parking lot of a closed convenience without fear of police harassment. I think it’s a fair trade off don’t you?

Pretty wild that we will most likely triple the murders from 2003. Population is pretty flat over that time frame too.

As I mentioned Saturday in the other thread when you and I were talking, my wife and I are intending to move to Collier County, FL next year. I just went and looked at some of their stats…they had 1 murder in 2018 and 3 in 2019. I couldn’t find their 2020 report.
