Let’s Talk About Storming The Field, Anyone Ever Experience It

I think it’s a unique experience that separates college sports from professional sports, it’s also just fun as hell.
I’ve only got to experience this once in high school when our football team made the playoffs for the first time in 7 or so years.
People immediately started jumping the railings and running towards the middle of the field. Coaches didn’t seem to care aside from the students getting stuck in the hedges.
Everyone players and students just met in the middle and started celebrating while music was blasting from the speakers. Pretty sure we all got some finger wagging from the administration the next day but nobody gave a damn

2013 Iron Bowl. Euphoric and no game will ever top it given the play and the SEC Championship on the line.
I was a student at the time. Dove over the thorn bush hedges, scratched the hell out of my stomach, lost my sunglasses, then hyperventilated when I ran out on the field.
Never done hard drugs but I imagine that's what it feels like.

I was at the Iron Bowl in 2013 and that was my storm the field experience
I’ve never been surrounded by so many people that were all just 10/10 happy
Nobody gave Auburn a chance in that game but they went toe to toe with Alabama in a truly fantastic game and the ending needs no introduction

It truly was an impossible to top football game experience. Other games might tie it, but none could ever possibly surpass the euphoria in that stadium on that night.
Not even the Prayer in Jordan Hare is on par; though it’s close and came only two weeks prior

2003
WVU beat #3 VT my freshman year
The state troops wouldn’t let us tear the gold post down and pepper sprayed everyone. It was chaos.
It was so loud that night the refs made an announcement to stop pumping crowd noise but there wasn’t any being pumped and it got even louder.

the funniest thing I've ever seen related to that was this.
junior year in high school we were watching film on this team we were playing the next week (Mary G Montgomery). They sucked and we sucked.
The team that knocked them off the week before (Baker) hadn't won in a long time either.
So when the game ended Baker students got the bright idea to go try and rip a goal post down even though the game was at Mary G's field.
so MGM's team and students saw this going down and it was an all out fight.
we played MGM the next week and beat them for our only win of the season
our coach Paul Crane purposely showed the film of the melee and said he'd kick anyone off the team that even got as much as a personal foul in the game in our game with Mary Montgomery.

a current female student at A&M who got absolutely destroyed for no good reason by a state trooper on Saturday probably doesnt feel as fondly over the experience

was @ Auburn for a little while early 2000's.
only stormed the field after Auburn upset Florida 2001.
the wind and rain were a factor.
Damon Duval hit a FG almost at the buzzer to win it

I was at the A&M game Saturday, but I am well past the days of storming the field. Let the current students have their fun. They certainly brought the noise that night.
I was also at the 2010 Nebraska game, so I have seen it in person twice but never participated.
