I personally think he is USC bound unless PSU offers a huge raise.

The crop of coaches this year suck arse

I'm coming around to hiring Napier but only a 4 yr contact $4 million.

If he sucks after 2 seasons can him but the buyout won't be to bad financially.

Nothing special about him. He’s never won anything of significance. He lost 5 games last season just like Orgeron. No thanks.

You mean 4 years 16 million, right?

Right. My # 1 basic criteria: win games you are supposed to, consistently,

And he has hiccups seemingly every year. It shouldn’t happen with their resources, continuity, and positioning in the big 10

I think you misunderstood me in a previous thread. I was just listing the reasons why I don’t think he’d leave Penn State to come here. I certainly wasn’t making a case for WANTING him to come here. We could do worse, but he’s not in my top 10, probably.

Yea James Franklin doesn’t have a lot of luster to me. He provided the best Vandy season ever. Early pedo state he had sanctions but those have been long gone and he still isn’t doing much.

I don’t think Franklin has beaten a top 10 team on the road either wow

He has made some mind boggling in game decisions that directly resulted in losses as well. Scoring a touchdown last year when they could have kneeled the game out, then going to overtime and losing, is probably at the top.

No one wants james franklin.

Just look what he did in state last year in recruiting.

James Franklin covered up rapes at Vandy.

I think he’s untouchable by LSU and USC. Both are knee-deep in rape scandals right now

It wasn’t that big of an issue when he was hired at Penn State, but the world is different now.

I like him, I just think he’s a non-starter.

People bring up Freeze and act like his issues will blackball him, but he just violated NCAA recruiting rules. No rape cover ups and no Title IX issues.

Not advocating for Freeze either.

The Vandy scandal also keeps him off the list of possible candidates

Could you do this for Lane Kiffin as well.

Because it blows my mind that people want this guy at LSU when he’s literally won nothing. Someone responded to me one time that they wanted him because he “brings buzz” to the program.

I’m at a loss as to why this guys name keeps coming up.

I don’t think you can. At his last two stops, how many times has he been favored in a game & lost?

His career is a little nuanced, too, given his age at his earlier stops.

Kiffin has issues but I don’t think they are game day related at all. He’s one of the more safer picks in that area

Yea, it’s hard to compare FAU and Ole Miss to Penn State, which is a blue blood traditional power.

I don’t even consider the USC and Tennessee jobs for Kiffin.

He was probably too young to get those jobs, and he actually did ok.

USC should’ve never fired him.

I don't want Kiffin as coach personally.

His defenses have sucked everywhere he's been. USC, FAU, Ole Miss.

I would only be okay if Pruitt was his DC

What he did at FAU was incredible though. They were winless in the season before he got there and in year 2 he went 11-3 and then had another 10 win season

Unlike the idiot we have now that clearly learned nothing from his past failures, I think Lane has.

You can’t argue that guy isn’t one of the best offensive minds in college football
