Do you think the stock market will crash soon? Should I buy now or wait till it crashes?

Anyone concerned about inflation skyrocketing or the housing market in China collapsing?(Evergrande)
I’ve never bought stock before but this is a concern from what I’ve heard/read.
Do you think it will crash between now and a year from now?

You’re new to investing and pretty naive. You need to be thinking long term. A short term correction does not really matter for a long term investor. No one knows what will happen. People have been expecting a crash for a while and it never happened. The DJIA might go to 42,000 before a correction… and then it might correct to 37,000. Who knows? You can’t time the market

Just don't be the last to buy and the last to sell

you should definitely sell before it crashes and buy after it crashes.
no charge for this advice, BTW

It just took a 6% haircut and it’s showing temporary bottom indications. Now is a good time to buy

Nobody knows …
Only?Probabilities and opinions based on their interpretation of data
If you’re this new to it — I’m a fan of DCA and indexing to start and you’ll get exposed to the risk of the market without the worry of timing (which NO ONE can get right except Nancy Pelosi and Jerome Powell )

Waiting for the crash is weak. YOLO everything into SPY puts with a one year expiration.
J/k. I’d say either DCA your way in if you’re in for the long-haul or buy some sort of income-producing real asset (with minimal debt).

Buy now and when it crashes. And don’t stop buying

Last time we had this thread, the OP ended up fighting with every reply about how the whole system was about to come down. Never gets old every month getting one of these.
If your concern is inflation, then moving to cash doesn't make much sense now does it.

I think another thing should be pointed out: everyone always talks of “breaks” and “crashes” like these things happen in seconds when often it’s more of a “vague saunter downwards” as a popular book/series so eloquently put it.

Don't know much about anything but what've learned for myself with the stock market over 20+ years now is that I've just kept buying on ups AND downs and so far, I'm doing ok. So I'll probably continue for about 20 more.
