MONTGOMERY — After peaking at 2,890 Covid-19 related hospitalizations on Sept. 1, Alabama’s numbers have fallen by almost half to 1,470 during the most recent surge of cases. That is a 49% drop in just under four weeks.

The number of vaccinated, partially vaccinated and unvaccinated is unclear based on the numbers released by AHA. Numbers released today indicated 85% were unvaccinated, 15% were fully vaccinated and 3% were partially vaccinated for a total of 103%. A request for clarification did not receive a response by the time of publication.

Despite the rapid decline in Covid-19 related patients, ICU units remain near capacity with 1,516 of 1,535 beds occupied. Covid patients accounted for 36% of the occupancy.

That's impossible!

JBE said the CDC told him that schools would be rampant with Covid if kids don't wear masks.

It’s almost as if the Delta variant was a flash in the pan like most variants

So barely over 1/3 in ICU are from covid. The "WoRsT PanDEMic" that is worth breaking our country over is overshadowed nearly 2:1 by other diseases and illnesses. Got it.

There is no specific threshold for admitting someone to ICU. it’s basically the sickest of the hospital admissions. So they will usually be full or “near capacity “

and believe you me, if a health care provider can get you from the ICU into a regular room on in the "Covid Quarantined Floor" they'll keep you there as long as BCBS is willing to pay the bill.
I am certain that on day three, if I hadn't demanded to be presented an o2 therapy protocol to GTF out of that petrie dish, I could have been there for two weeks, instead of home in two days.

Nothing surprising here. The waves have been very dynamic. Follow the Rt statistics and you will have clear information about rising and falling infections. This wave has been rapidly falling for more than a month.

So without COVID patients, ICU's would have 565 empty beds. Such a waste!
