This night not be the best titled thread, but some of you might have seen Russell Westbrook in a dress..

Kwame Brown is on live right now talking about the impact of men in dresses (it having a negative impact).

He let some woman come on live and she said one day when her son was 2 years old he went in her closet and put her shoes on and she whipped him and told him he isn't supposed to wear those because they are for women.

She was a single mother, her husband had left her when she was pregnant for the kid so she felt like she had to teach him about being a boy. Do you think that's the right way to show a 2 year old how to be a boy?

Spittin Fire With Kwame Brown- Live

I don't think it was the best way to handle it, but I get her point.

That's stupid. Little kids do that with their parents' shoes (both parents/boys and girls) all the time. If it becomes some sort of pattern and goes into other things, sure. But hitting a 2 year old for a one time thing (when you are a single mom and there's not even a father's shoes to put on) is fricking out of line.

Kid is going to turn into a masochistic freak.

She should have gently redirected him.

No, but at 2 he probably won’t remember anyway.

But unfortunately she is left with teaching him how to be a boy/man - and she has to try her best.

I think parents need to teach the kids how to act, how to act their gender, and that the reality is there are gender roles.

Your threads are so fricking pointless.

Yes, Chris. We think boys should be boys and girls should be girls.

Admins, please delete this thread now.

Actively encouraging kids to do things which are completely contrary to their biological construction is child abuse. Look at the state of this country and tell me if it shouldn’t be important to teach kids to act their sex.

I think that's over the top. Kids are curious. I remember putting my mom's shoes on, playing with her makeup, etc. when I was 4 or 5. My parents just brushed it off and told me not to play with their things. I got bored with it and moved on to something else.

Back in my day. If a grown man wore a dress it better be because he lost a bet or he was going to get his arse kicked.

Oddly enough, I've raised two boys and never once had to even approach this subject.

Probably not the most popular take on TD, but I'm not going to purposefully nudge my son in either direction. If he is traditionally masculine, great. Makes life easier for him at least. If he is traditionally more feminine, then great.

So far, he gravitates towards traditionally masculine things that little boys like. Big trucks, dinosaurs, sharks, etc.

Yes. As a woman, I am all about strong, masculine men. Anything else is a hell no.

You don’t have to do this, they do it naturally.

You do however have to teach sexual perversion.

You shouldn't have to if we we would start treating mental illness instead of celebrating it.

Parenting is hard AF…i don’t know anyone has the right way. As long as a person isn’t harming their child due to their own lack of self control (child abuse etc), i tend to hold off on my subjective thoughts

I’m of the opinion that a red flag that a society will fall is promoting and encouraging feminine traits in the males

I'm sure all of the close-minded rednecks will downvote me into oblivion, but "acting your sex" is not a scientific term. What you are referencing is conformity to a social norm. And actually, social norms for gender roles differ vastly from society to society.

Either way I couldn't give two shits about how another person dresses or behaves if it has no impact on me.
