What coach O apparently doesn’t understand about 2019 offense

In 2019 we did not substitute much on offense. We left in our best players and let them play. Good things happen when you do this:
- your best players are on the field more often
- you don’t give the defense the opportunity to substitute.
- you find a rhythm. We need a rhythm.
Our coordinator and head coach need to learn this lesson. Bring in the second string in the fourth quarter when you have a big lead and let them get experience then, not before unless there is injury or other circumstances.

Are you serious? Kiner, Bech, Boutte, Deion Smith, and Thomas Jr. Not even close. Should roll with these 5 guys 80% of the plays.

QB: Maxx right now
RB: Kiner
WR: Boutte, Smith
TE: Bech
OL: all looked like shite so far

I agree and I really like what 19 did. But we also needed to find out who our best players were coming into the season as nobody proved they were it yet minus #1

Lots of words when all you needed to say was everything.

So you know more than two coaches with 40 years experience coaching at the college and NFL level? OK

Did Joe Brady know more tha Ensminger about offense?

This is accurate.
BUT who is the fifth skill position player that should be on the field?
IF TDP block so damn well, might as well run some two back sets and let him block and Kiner can go out for a pass.

Dumb argument
I can observe that the offensive line has underperformed without knowing more than the offensive line coach.
Get out of here with that weak bullshite

The difference is in 2019 we knew before the season started who the best players were.
This year, we have 4 freshman WR who are getting major game action for the first time in their careers. You need to be able to figure out who your best players are in an in game setting in order to play your best players.
Against Texas in 2019, we rotated our entire receiving corp out multiple times, played fournette and TDP a handful of snaps. Then when the starters stepped up, they rarely left the field after that game.
Hopefully the coaches can now see who their best guys are, and keep them in the game.

TE: Bech
bech should start at WR. i dont know why he's pigeonholed as a TE.

VERY good point. And you can still sub, just do it between drives.
We sub way too much. Way too much.

This didn't really begin until later in the season.
At this point in 2019 we still had Lanard Fournette getting reps.

It’s like people didn’t watch the game Saturday. Were the majority of LSU fans in a coma?

He isn’t pigeonholed into anything he plays more receiver than TE but plays TE a little bit because Kole Taylor isn’t a threat at all lol
Posted on 9/20/21 at 11:39 am to ChEgrad
Agreed, and that will happen. However, it’s taking a few games for these people to assert themselves.
Posted on 9/20/21 at 11:39 am to monsterballads
I think we call him a TE because we look better saying "Boutte, Smith, BT/Palmer @ WR & Bech @TE" as opposed to "Boutte, Smith, Bech @ WR & Taylor @TE." However, I do agree he should be a starting WR if we had a serviceable option at TE.

Probably wouldn't be a bad scheme considering our OLine performance. But I would rather put a 5th skill guy such as BT or Nabers out there.

quote:If he can block at all, playing TE is a great place for him. Gets the opportunity to create mismatches easier and more playmakers on the field. Which is why I didn’t understand Georgia putting Arik at WR. It was probably a requirement for him to go there.
bech should start at WR
