He made a great play on the pick last game

I am high on Burns also and I think he will be fine, just about every young player makes mistakes he is only a sophomore.

I don’t think you can say he made a great play on that interception. If you go back and look at the film he was playing zone and had the ball thrown almost directly to him. If he didn’t make that pick, you could have actually said he just made a bad play by not intercepting a ball thrown directly to him.

Against UCLA he attempted to tackle the TE and missed him completely and perhaps the worst tackle attempt in recent LSU history.

Damone Clark and Derek Stingley say hello.

"Clearly signals got mixed Up."

A lot of that last season and continuing into this one.

Can't GOAT DB Coach Raymond (According to the Rantknockers) and Jones fix the problem?

If the Blown Coverage Dysfunction still exists against a not that good MSU team, it's going to spell trouble moving forward against the SEC BIG BOYS.....

I haven’t even seen Sage Ryan on the sidelines. Guy is a ghost like Travonte Valentine

Jacob Hester said this morning that the coverage was quarters which means it wasn’t Burns fault. It was the Cornerback’s man to pickup. I don't know where he received that info or if it was correct. Just passing along.

Major Burns

Yeah ever since seeing this guy play I’m convinced Georgia told him to take a hike and not the other way around

Damone Clark and Derek Stingley say hello.

If you're talking about the same play. Stingley was in coverage on the opposite side of the field. He ran ~80 yards to try to make the tackle when 9 other defensive players were jogging or on the ground already.

interesting given that every other defender looked to be playing a cover-3 except Burns

I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be 2 or 4 b/c of my bourbon intake and replays at weird angles.

Burns may have been playing quarters which is why he was in the same zone as the other safety and left the receiver completely uncovered in the zone he should have been occupying.

No, I was specifically talking about the play below. But he did give the same crappy effort earlier in this video as well.

But it really doesnt matter, I think we got the Stingley we all know back against central michigan.

One name I haven't heard about is Derrick Davis Jr. Is he injured or simply not picking up the defense as yet?

My thought is that a safety should at least take a few glances at the QB during any given play.

Could Sage Ryan be a boost for us when he returns?

Definitely in the return game I suspect. Realizing, of course, it was high school but Sage was always very decisive on returns and very good.

You have to remember that Burns is still a R-Fresh and is going to be a great player. I agree Sage will give us a playmaker but don't be down on Burns too much. Everyone else out there is just as out of position as he is.

Burns wasn't good enough to start at Georgia, yet we expect him to be a starting safety for us this season?

He should be coming off the bench. When you're new and confused you do things like miss open-field tackles against UCLA and blow a coverage that gives Central Michigan an easy touchdown.

It hurt a lot losing ward, there was a significant drop off when he came out of the game at UCLA imo. Hopefully he gets well soon.

Burns just started his like 2nd game of his career. He made an int and had a couple of nice tackles. He’ll get better and had been getting better

Burns got us killed over and over. If he’s out there this week he will give up the most points and it wont be close
