Specifically how it works. I will admit that I didn’t know the exact details

..........

The melted wax is the fuel for the flame and is drawn up into the wick via capillary action and feeds the flame when it reaches the top of the wick.

Bonus points if you can tell me what this is without consulting Google or cheating in any way. Be honest.

The heat from the flame volatilizes the hydrocarbon of the candle, this aerosoled hydrocarbon then mixes with oxygen and the heat from the flame and combustion occurs.

I’m amazed the OP didn’t know this. They did not pay attention in 6th grade science class.

I've always been amazed that such a small flame can melt enough of the wax to use as fuel.

The candles are just wonderful! And, in my opinion, it does not matter what the mechanism of their action is. Candles should create a unique atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. I often have candlelit family dinners with my husband. Such evenings bring us closer and allow us to relax. It's great to use Gracie Moon Scents(LINK /) at home, as their scents are unique and inimitable. By the way, you can use the scents of candles to cheer up or vice versa to relax. There is a lot of information on the Internet about what flavors you need.
