i'm a lawyer, and i gotta say - emery has the right lawyer to plead his case. no one could have listened to him and not by angry about emery being denied eligibility. i hope the NCAA hears it like everyone else will.

His attorney Donald Jackson. He has top notch attorney with a lot of experience against the ncaa.

Says this is essentially immoral

Case Got denied last Friday before ucla game

They will get additional info to get this overturned because ncaa didn’t have all the facts.

covid and a death in his family, sidetracked Emery and he got behind academically.
When things stabilized he got back on track but was still behind in his requirements so needed summer classes but his summer semester was limited in the offering. He was still academically unqualified.

concern is with ncaa , not lsu

FineBaum is irritated that O isn’t going to bat for him but attorney says it’s not up to the coach so nothing wrong there.

Emery is a good back, but we will be fine if he is not re-instated.

Nuss, Kiner, Bech......

Is a death in the family usually ground for leniency with regards to scholarships? I didn't think it was.

I hope he gets reinstated but I just can’t get excited about him on the field. It would be challenging for Barry Sanders to run behind this offensive line. They all get blown off the ball every single snap. Any team with an even remotely average d-line going to eat them alive.

I hear the attorney’s story and then hear the story of Archie Manning and kinda shake my head

Archie went home for a break and found his father dead of suicide. He took care of the whole thing, cleaned it all up, went back to school and didn’t miss a class or a game. He even played with a broken arm.

I hear Emery’s story and it’s spun the way a good attorney should spin it but the bottom line is that Emory failed to do what he had to do academically and wants to blame covid and some family medical issues which all suck but life goes on…. We have to do what we have to do. No excuses.

I rule against Emory too on this.

Don Jackson taught my sports law courses (amateur and pro) and dude knows his shite. May not always agree with him but knows his shite.

To say LSU managed correctly is freaking stupid. LSU totally fumbled the ball. It wasn’t the fact that he needed the extra three hours from summer as much as it was the fact that they allowed him to be put in that position. They knew I should have known in the fall and spring how many hours it would take to make it up. That’s on LSU. They probably assumed that he would be able to get a waiver.
