He looked awful and was slurring/misspeaking on his sideline interviews this past weekend.

Still sounded better than Beth Mowins.

Looks like he may be on a long term steroid like prednisone that has him fluffy. He may have been dealing with covid long haul and steroids, BP meds, antihistamine and antidepressants may be mixed up.

I wonder what kind of punishment the producer gets for letting Todd go on the air like that?

This is my question. If it is substance abuse, how does a producer not immediately pull McShay aside and tell him he's not going on the air? Hell, they ended up pulling him anyway and replacing him with that other reporter.

The fact that this caught the producer unaware leads me to believe it is some sort of adverse reaction to medication or something, which caught the whole crew off guard. Although, perhaps the crew is just that stupid to believe they could put an alkie on camera and no one would notice.

If he’s on long term steroid use, it can puff you up and make you fuzzy brained or almost confused and appear like you’re almost drunk. Hope he gets a hold of whatever he’s dealing with.

looked like he was fixing to cry while he was talking about one of the OT's from Alabama.

i'm not making of him but he looked like someone who just received horrible news on live TV.

I though he might of had cancer, when I saw him on tv the other day (possibly a tumor). Radiation and steroid therapy makes your face swell...

I think it's something worse than drinking too much. He looked bad and steroids and various cancer treatments do a worse number on you than being drunk in my opinion. We have all been around people who are drunk and I think what he had was worse than being drunk. If you are an alcoholic you get good at hiding it at work and appearing normal.

It is NOT a disease! You can call it a mental illness, but it is not a fricking disease.

I also thought that he looked like he had been taking steroids. My coworker(may he rest in peace) lost his battle with brain cancer last year and his face was puffed up like that towards the end because of all the steroids. It was awful to see. Hope Todd will be okay.

I wouldn't personally lump an avoidable disease from one that isn't. There is a distinction to be made.

I know those comments were cherry picked, but the fact that they were supportive of him makes me happy. I’ve always liked his stories and his analysis and I hope he gets right.

Crohns or Colitis possibly. I could be way off and don’t like to guess on someone’s condition but after having Colitis then Colon cancer, i have a good idea how a severe flare up changes you in your physical appearance. Hopefully it’s not something that severe.

Crohns and Ulcerative Colitis are awful diseases. People who’ve never had it can’t possibly fathom how miserable it is.

Good news is that it can be treated most of the time and have long stretches of remission. Unfortunately for me I stopped taking all my medication after 3 years of remission thinking I didn’t need it anymore but boy was I wrong. It came back with a vengeance where my entire large intestines were ulcerated then turned to cancer. Dr was able to remove my colon and make an internal J pouch out of my small intestines and by the grace of God I’ve gone nearly 20 years with no major issues. I was worried I was going to have to shite in a bag the rest of my life. Usually the internal pouches don’t last long so I know one day I will end up with a bag but there’s nothing I can do about it. All I can do is be grateful for what I have and not worry about when my pouch may go bad. I’ll cross that bridge if it comes. God has really blessed beyond my wildest dreams and more than I could hope for. Things really can always be worse. I’m very fortunate.

Don’t know why I felt the need to post my medical history.

Heart disease is also avoidable. STDs, 90% of all lung cancers, most diabetes. Lots of diseases are avoidable. It doesn’t mean they are not a disease.
