A Generation of American Men Give Up on College

Make no mistake about it sports fans, the universities are far more interested in indoctrinating your boys that they are educating them.
Boys have given up on college - WSJ

That needs to be addressed by civil rights legislation. Colleges should be forced to declare men a minority and give them special scholarships and allow lower entrance scores.
Or it could be that women are flocking to liberal arts schools and men are pursuing jobs. Look at STEM majors and see if the discrepancy is still there.
Men probably do realize they can go in the trades and make more money without going bankrupt.

The gov't should get out of education and let the market figure all of this out.

I've never thought about it before, but without subsidies, the number of women would at college would plummet.
You'd probably go back to an education system that looked like what we had, before WW2. Much smaller, and male dominated.

The article is behind a paywall, but why would they go?
Many are finding out that trades pay way better and you don't have to spend 4 years in school and amass significant debt to enter one. At this point you're just paying to be indoctrinated.
Of course, being the WSJ, they boys they interviewed are probably soyboys who are afraid of working anywhere but Whole Foods or Starbucks.

The trades not only pay better, men almost always enjoy the work more

The totality of human knowledge exists in the palm of your hand available almost instantly.
There is no logical reason to attend a university. There may be pragmatic reasons I would agree but no logical reasons.

A young man graduating high school can do better for himself by learning a trade/niche than going to a university.

Jobs requiring a college education do everything they can to NOT hire white men.
On the off chance a white male gets one of these jobs the corporation does everything they can to NOT promote the white men.
Trades don’t do this crap.

If I had to pay today’s rates for college and deal with the bullshite involved, I would be looking into alternatives that would have put me on a similar path.
Hell, what I do today technically doesn’t require a degree but I would have had to put in several years in a lesser position to get to where I walked in the door with a degree.

You can make high 6 figures in sales. You do not need to be college educated to sell. Same with computer programming/coding. You can learn anything with Youtube videos.

Sales tends to require a gift of gab and/or big tits.
Bolt-ons wouldnt look good on me.

Maybe the people would figure it out too, like a degree in Feelings ain't worth shite but going to a Tech School for a fraction of the cost can pay for a nice lifestyle.

However, a frequently overlooked factor:
- on many of the "trades" you are using up your body rapidly. you had better become an owner/contractor by the time you are 40 because the 50's can be a slide into medical necessities.
We have in place " social safety nets" but they are run by the degenerates of whichever party is in comtrol.
AND BTW, these are problems that have to be faced (hopefully solved) by all cultures.
A good read on this overarching discussion is Ted Kasczinski's manifesto. I have been reading this and it is absolutely fascinating. Lose that "wanna bomb" professors thing and that dude is one of the brightest people in the world.

Men aren't built for rote tasks or busy work. They're meant to create and to lead.
Depression in men is related to their adapting to a feminist world and leaving their natural inclinations behind.

One of my boys, who would breeze through any college, chose to go into fire fighting. He got hooked on Mike Rowe's "How I heard It" podcast and there was nothing his mom could do to convince him to go to college.
He will pick and choose advance courses he wants in the future, but he is very level headed about his goals.

If, instead they are going to trade school and making money without student loan debt, isn't that a good thing?

Wait till all these young men who learn to code are STILL making more than a bunch of women who spent 6-8 years working thru their graduate degrees in gender studies!!!

It's funny because I have a Master's degree and yet..........at least 90% of the reason I make the money I make today is because of shite I learned on my own.
No one I work with gives a crap about my degree. They just like my data modeling and analysis skills ALL of which were self taught.

and Mr Roger,
there is the added burden of having to deal with the world full of women taught that they are the supreme beings of the planet.
used to be they were satisfied with climbing social ladders until they began stepping on their titties, NOW they think they are astronauts, race car drivers, soccer players (though I alwaays enjoy a good womens roller derby.
Extra challenges for young men today - I see it in my two sons' traverse of the 2020 world
