The tractor supply near me has spypoints and muddys. I looked them up and all are poorly rated on academy/cabelas/etc. Are there any out there that work well? I always seem to see folks bitching about them.

I'm currently using 10 primos cameras that I got for 20 each when Dicks was selling off all hunting gear. They've worked well and still work well. There's a spot I'd like to put a cellular camera so I don't have to stink up the area every month or so to see what's there.

Def worth it but you will need a decent signal and to tinker with them often. They burn a ton of batteries or need to use an external power source.

I tried two.
A Crestive XP LTE 4g and a Spypoint link-micro-lte.
Both worked great for three to four weeks. Alerts, email pictures; I was happy and excited about using them.
Then, they just stopped sending pics. Everything looked like it was working, they simply stopped emailing and storing pictures. The makers were worse than useless. The Creative XP was a Verizon camera and the spy point was an At&T. I get a marginal Verizon, but very good At&T signals.
Customer service sucked. The Creative Xp was supposed to be one of the best and was expensive.
They both still take excellent pictures day or night. I’ve just given up on the cellular part.

I have 4 Stealthcam Fusion X

I had to return one after a couple of weeks but the replacement and the others have been really good. I have them for security at my new property and one is on a small field I cleared.

So far I’ve been happy. And the app is easy to use.

I have been battling the Cuddelink system for a year now. I had to get my base station replaced because it was defective out of the box. Never would connect with the cell tower.

Then, once I got that replaced, one of my three daisy chain cameras wouldn't turn on. So I'm down to the base station and two daisy chains.

One of the daisy chains will take pictures, but won't send them through the base unit. The other two work as intended.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. Takes hours to get them on the phone, and when you do they basically just say I'm not using the system correctly, and it's my fault not their fault.

The idea behind this system is amazing. The reality is trash.

Thats what I figured. Idk if I've ever talked to somebody who didn't have problems with them. I reckon it's easier to check a basic one than deal with the heartache of a cellular

In the beginning I had issues with Moultrie Mobile, but they’ve done a few updates and it’s flawless. When I have it set on immediate upload, it will burn through batteries, but you can adjust upload times to conserve battery. Really no complaints.

I had 5-6 Spypoints. They’re fine for the money and easy to use, but signal is bad and they’re spotty. Picture quality is bad. I’d you pull a card you realize that it sends less than half the pics.

Just got some Reveal Tacticams and the picture quality is much better and so is transmission.

Picked up a refurbished Moultrie from the company for $60. It’s done well so far.

I am using WiseEye trail Have really enjoyed using them, they are not the cheapest, but their customer service is great and their apps and tech are cool.

We use spypoint micros. Have 10 or so. Keep the batteries fresh and use the chat option online and have them send the firmware updates every so often. Easy as hell.

I had the most horrendous experience with Spypoint until they finally sent a total replacement unit. Now, it works fine.

Covert is the best brand I've seen. Always reliable. If something does go wrong, they'll send you a new camera very quickly.

Save yourself the headaches and get a Covert. They cost a little more upfront, but they pay for themselves with reliability. I have a couple that are in their 5th season and still going strong.

Pretty much what everyone said, spypoint is traah. Tactacam pretty good for it’s price point. Coverts are good, but if you are going to spend the money then might as well get a Spartan Gogam, or a refurbished Ridgetec. They can do so much more by switching to video and sending video.

I don’t have a Spartan but i do have a ridgetec. What sold me was i can switch between 3 carriers, whichever works best on my lease. Arkansas is Verizon and i hunt it during early season. Late season i switch to ATT at the lease in Louisiana . The other carrier is T-Mobile but i don’t have a need for it.

How long do the batteries last on the tacticam? If I'm having to go change the batteries every couple of weeks it defeats the purpose I want it for

If you have it on every detection, about 3000-3500 photos using lithium AA batteries(which took me about a month) You could probably get 5000 photos if you get it to send just once or twice a day. I have mine hooked up to a 12V 9ah battery now and it’s been going for a while. Cables are metal chew proof wires , i just lay the box down behind the camera at the base of the tree.
