Fixing to sign up for this. Is there any better time of the year to sign up? Do they run a special at anytime?

If you didn't buy the stuff then look at ring. Much cheaper per month. Very dependable.

If you can afford it, go with a local company and just buy the equipment, they should be cheaper monthly and won’t lock you into a long contract. I work for an alarm company. Vivint and shite like that is a huge rip off. Shitty equipment.

There ain’t anything close to the $25/month I pay SimpliSafe from anything local….and I can cancel them whenever I want.
ETA but Ring is cheaper assuming they are still $10/month.

I’ve got SimpliSafe at home and am very happy. The only issue I have is the audio for the alarm (door chime, arm/disarm, etc) only comes from the base station and there are no speaker add-ons offered. There are however broken glass sirens but that’s not what I need.
Seems like an easy fix for SimpliSafe but IDK.

My company is just above $30/month, but I’d hope you aren’t in north Louisiana

shite I called Acadiana Security + 6 yrs ago when I put in Simplisafe and they wanted 55/month for what I was getting from Simplisafe…..local ADT dealers were at 40 and the features were less like no remote control via cell phone or stuff like that.
Both wanted contracts and Simplisafe came with no contract.

Usually the end of the year has a big sale. I like it. Several levels of monitoring 10 and 25. Local companies now advertising the same wireless technology.

Wireless Siren
This is how to extend the chime/alarm noises. I have one of these to play the chimes/siren on the other side of my house.

It’s my understanding that the door chime does not sound through those…only the alarm siren.
Is what I have read wrong?

It works good and I have 2 cameras hooked to it.

They run deals fairly often. The last one I saw was 40% off of equipment. I loaded up on door locks and water sensors.
If they're not currently running a deal, I'd wait. They'll run one soon enough.

Yes. What you've read is wrong.
I've got the base station plus 2 additional sirens and they make door chime, countdown and alarm sounds. The only sound they don't make that the base station does is speech.

Can I hijack this thread to ask a question?
The alarm was tripped a while back by a friend who told us immediately, but neither of us were home to turn it off and they only have my SO’s phone number, who was working. I called the alarm company from where I was, and they told me that the alarm would go off on its own.
When I asked about the police and said I’m not home, they said the police don’t get called.
Is this normal? What the heck is the point of an alarm system if they don’t call the police when they can’t get in touch with you? Or is this unusual?

If you gave them your secret word and told them there was not an intruder, then why would they dispatch?

Yup, when you go into the base stations settings in the phone app and go to devices, you can click on the wireless siren and either toggle a setting that says "enable chime" or it's just a volume bar for chime.
But 100%, you can get chime sound on the siren.

Have your area lit up well (motion lights), have a dog, have a gun. Get a Rottweiler or some big arse dog that will scare the shite out of anyone when it barks and when they see him/her.

I have SimpliSafe. It works well, but I wish I had Ring. Ring is cheaper and just as good service.
